Description

This early 1850's Augusta home has been lovingly revitalized to help those who stay here capture the essence of Augusta. While we have highlighted the craftsmanship of the original builder, we have also incorporated our vision of a comfortable historic home in the very heart of Missouri wine country. A fully functional kitchen with plenty of space, quartz countertops, upscale appliances and custom cabinetry is the heart of the home, and for those of you that enjoy preparing your own "gourmet" meals, will provide a comfortable setting to do so. Seating for 6 around Grandpa Bean's table, or two at the island, will allow you the perfect space for just two, or for a few friends.

The main floor also includes a parlor, with two wingback chairs and is a great spot to catch up on that novel you haven't quite finished reading yet. We also keep a few "classics" in the late 1700's "parlor library" cabinet. Next is the living room, with a comfortable space for visiting, catching a movie, or having a glass of wine in front of the corner fireplace. A flat screen TV, DVD, access to Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, and a selection of channels available through "Roku" are available. Streaming movies opens the selection with our complimentary WIFI.

From the living room, enter the foyer, with access to the newly redesigned bathroom and master bedroom. The bath features a custom shower, new fixtures, and a warm setting. While petite in size, the premium finishes compliment the home. The master bedroom is detailed with color and design to ensure a comfortable room great for a peaceful nights sleep on the queen sized sleigh bed and memory foam mattress. TV, DVD, and streaming options are available for your entertainment. An antique vanity with local history, dresser, and other fixtures complete the look. Entrance to the back porch area from the bedroom provides convenient access to a wonderful spot to take in the sunset and have a glass of your favorite vino or listen to the early morning sounds of Augusta with hot tea or coffee.

For those of you traveling with friends or children, the optional access to the second story provides two bedrooms. One side features an antique full sized bed while the other side features two twin beds. Entertainment options include TV, DVD, and streaming. All mattresses are memory foam, and each room features its own charming decor.

The exterior of the home provides multiple spots for enjoying the outdoors. Convenient access to all that Augusta has to offer is within walking distance, but if you prefer biking or driving, no worries. Local attractions include the Katy trail, Mount Pleasant Winery, Augusta Winery, Augusta Brewing company, and a host of shops and sights located in downtown Augusta. Other nearby attractions include the Daniel Boone home, Klondike Park, The Missouri River, and many others too numerous to mention. Washington is just 15 minutes away with a host of shopping and dining options as well.

Amazing House in the Heart of Augusta

We thoroughly loved staying at this house. Amy and Dave are great hosts and were very prompt in helping us with the questions we had. The house has amazing charm to it and makes you truly feel like you have stepped back in time while still having modern day conveniences. Definitely will stay here again when we go back to Augusta.
