The Texas Barn is a corporate two bedroom, 1700 square foot separate guest home located on a private, gated 3 acre estate in the heart of the Medical Center. A large soaking tub and shower are features of the bathrooms. The grounds also include a main home, guest cottage and separate garage. Use of the private pool, and picnic area is included. Several cats roam around the property and may entertain you!
This is a fully furnished corporate unit complete with linens, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, TV, DVD, telephone, washer and dryer, internet service and cable. The only thing necessary is your suitcase. City of San Antonio requires a permit for Short Term Rentals and our permit number is 2019-0015.
Conveniently located in a busy corridor of San Antonio, this is a park-like setting that gives you the feel of living in the country. A scenic 12 mile bicycle,walking path (Leon Creek Greenway) is within a mile of the property. There are numerous golf courses close by.
Further Details: HEB grocery stores and shopping malls (Huebner Oaks and La Cantera) are very close by. Six Flags and Sea World Theme Parks are also very near. Downtown and the River Walk are approximately 20 minutes away. Lackland Air Force Base is approximately 15 miles away.
The property is also close to USAA, Valero, University of Texas Health Science Center, UTSA, La Cantera/Rim/Six Flags 'Fiesta' TX and the I10/Loop 1604 area. All of the area hospitals are minutes away.
The Texas Barn is a non-smoking environment.
The Barn is fully stocked with old fashioned games - Cards, Dominoes, Risk, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, etc.
About The Owner: I am a retired educator and airline employee. My husband and I enjoy traveling, but we also love our home in San Antonio. Gardening and keeping the grounds lovely is a favorite pastime. We especially love to entertain, and enjoy the evenings around the patio area. We cook out often and enjoy al fresco dining and a glass of wine or a margarita by the pool. We love to get to know our guests. There is always an open invitation. We have several cats who will want to be petted and loved.
For a relaxing getaway, this is the place to come! You are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of San Antonio, and yet once you enter this property, you feel like you are in the country! Great San Antonio location!!
This was a great property for four adults. Very good location for going to San Antonio sites and surrounding cities. The property was well stocked and each day we enjoyed seeing deer. The owners were extremely helpful with providing information on sites to see and restaurants with great food and environments. The home is seclusive with beautiful surroundings and gated to provide safety. Loved this house!!

Family Fun
My family of 4 including 2 daughters ages 11 & 14 stayed 9 nights and enjoyed the hospitality and comfort of this property. All the great reviews tell you. I was there for a conference and to visit wife's family. It's 25 minutes from SAT, downtown, and Aquatica- water park depending on traffic; 15 minutes to La Cantera Resort and shops and 6 Flags. Historic Fredericksburg is about an hour(50 mins.on a good day) away- we visited family there, shops, rodeo, nightly show of bats coming out of old train tunnel, visited Luckenbach, rode horses and atv's. Gated on pretty grounds(no new dog- yet), a couple of cats(friendly PB and shy Freeway), you stay in the back of the 3 acres or so in a clean, beautifully remodeled barn. Covered parking, shaded outdoor sitting area among trees and flowers and deer eating the flowers, charcoal BBQ's if you want; inside, the downstairs has a living area and pullout sofa(1 girl stayed here), laundry and board games; upstairs: very fully stocked kitchen, living room with BlueRay player and large TV, 2 baths( one with large tub), 2 BR's, very large walk-in closet in master- my youngest slept in here for one night just for fun, TV in master, too. Good WIFI. Beds are comfy; window seats with nice views- very peaceful. Rhonda was gone, but Paul kept an eye on us. On the grounds are the owners house, a private cottage for their friend, old treehouse( not for use), swing set, and small, but just the right temp pool by the main house. The pool is over my head on the deep end; we used it frequently and ate grapefruit from their tree next to it. HEB grocery near or Walmart a bit farther. Somewhat rundown but interesting Buddhist Temple across the street. Everything's close-by, tons of restaurants- they have a nice, personal guide and book/mags to tell you what to do and where to eat, or just ask the owners. We visited the Alamo, Riverwalk, Rainforest Café, McNay Museum(my favorite for the grounds and amazing Impressionistic Art), missions: Aquatica was the girls favorite for the Stingray encounter and the fun water rides. Go early to beat crowds. Lots of neat nearby towns/wineries to visit. San Antonio is not as hot or muggy as Houston, and it has a lot to offer. Great host, quiet, secure, country feel location. We'll return!

Beautiful place to stay and so well cared for.
The apartment is very comfortable and charming. The grounds are lovely. The owners were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Enjoyed visiting with them and with some other very nice people we met while there. We will be back!

Very Secure!
We loved staying here. There is a beautiful home in front of the "barn" and a guest house beside it that someone lives in. There's almost always someone there to keep an eye out. With that said this is a gated property with a wall so it is very secure! Loved watching the deer in mornings and evenings! Loved sitting on the patio on the lawn. All of that to say I'd for sure stay here again. The property owners are very nice and warm people. I would encourage anyone to check it out. Has had some updates but could use a little more on the inside. Thank you!!!

Sea world, river walk weekend.
The barn house was clean as a whistle and well stocked. Rhonda was could not have been nicer. The property was beautiful and we enjoyed the pool and watching the deer. Good location for San Antonio attractions. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The Barn was the BEST!
Excellent place to stay. Bed was very comfortable, and bedding was high quality. Very clean, and homey. All the comforts of home away from home. Kitchen fully stocked with all but food, and then some stable seasons are there also. Laundry is also onsite and convenient in the home also. We BBQ by the pool, played board games, and watched some TV. Stores are close, quiet neighborhood, and all around I was very pleased. Cant say enough. Would stay again, if in San Antonio.

The Texas Barn is charming, comfortable, clean and quiet. From the warm arrival welcome from Rhonda to the morning deer strolling in the yard, our stay at The Barn couldn't have been nicer. We found everything we needed (Kitchen was great), living/dining area was comfy and felt like home. Rhonda loaded us up with lots of great local info, and enabled us to come and go as we pleased to enjoy our Texas Thanksgiving rendezvous (from Northern Michigan and Southern California). The location really worked out well, too. Easy access to the sights (Alamo, River Walk, etc.), then "home" to the peace and quiet of The Barn. Texas style! Perfect! Thank you, Rhonda!
A clean, quiet two story apartment, perfect for restoration and healing.
This was the perfect place for an out-of-towner to recover after surgery. Rhonda was a joy to work with before, during and after our stay. The apartment is clean and comfortable and fully stocked with all needed supplies. It was a bonus to have beautiful grounds to use for quiet walks and deer watching. Looking forward to returning during our next visit to San Antonio.

Comfortable private Tex Barn
Wonderful private location. Well appointed kitchen and living areas. Comfortable sleeping with luscious sheets. Excellent travel tips from our hosts with close proximity to a plethora of hiking, restaurants and shopping. Great NW San Antonio location with easy access to RiverWalk, Austin, and Hill Country.
