Wake up in the glorious morning to unobstructed views of the Reserve and the island of Culebra, and even St. John and St. Croix on a clear day, or have a cocktail on the front balcony while you watch the lights of Vieques and main-island Puerto Rico twinkle in the distance. The countryside location is in the center of the island so you can be just about anywhere in 5-20 minutes — from the island's best beaches to restaurants and shopping. Our Viequense neighbors are friendly and respond in kind to a smile and a wave. Friendly dogs, wandering chickens and free-roaming horses are all a part of day-to-day life in Monte Carmelo, so if an insulated resort-like experience is what you're looking for, then our house is not for you. But if you are looking to experience real-life Vieques in the comfort of a safe and stylish house, then we have no doubt you will love it here. You feel like home
The house is really beautiful, it's special. We liked the furniture, the ceramic floor tiles, the bathrooms, the space, the view. The owner Perri is very helpful, we coudn't rent a car in Vieques, because all the cars were rented out. Perri organized for us a little golfcart. In a 10 minutes ride from the village we arrived to his nice house, and with a 30 minutes ride we found some really lonesome dreambeaches. The island sufferd a lot from the hurracan last year and for that the electricity doens't work as it should be. The housmanager Noal, a very sympathic person, gave us some strong ligthts, so we had no the electricity problem. You will enjoy a 100% staying in this unique house in Vieques!

Super nice place to stay
We really appreciated staying here each night, especially after 8 hours of volunteering on the island this was a terrific place to kick our feet up and relax. I would have given it 5 stars, because the place deserves it, but the listing confused me a little bit. It was unclear to me by viewing the listing that we would not have access to a second bedroom nor did it state that the entrance to the second and third bedrooms is through a separate outside entrance, something that should be important to families. Otherwise, this place is a perfect place to enjoy the island and I highly recommend it.
