Designed as a private paradise for two adults only, Bonita Vista is centrally located and easy to get to, yet very private. This new hillside retreat features a large, covered pool bar with breathtaking views overlooking the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge and Caribbean Sea.
Our April 2018 guests wrote in our guest book, "We couldn't have had a more beautiful and comfortable home away from home. A very special place for sure."
A relaxing afternoon poolside slips easily into sunset cocktail hour and dinner from the grill. Perhaps a swim under the stars or a magical moonrise over the bay!
Just steps away to the cottage where your luxurious queen bed awaits and A/C or soothing tropical breezes lull you to sleep. Awake to a spectacular sunrise and enjoy a 'rainfall' shower in your en-suite bathroom. Savor your morning coffee from the fully equipped kitchen while you plan the days adventure!
Everything you need for a relaxed weekend in one of the best views Vieques has to offer.
From the first conversation we had Barbara and Kris were always very helpful. When we got to the property Barbara greeted us at the gate and then introduced us to their very friendly dogs Kelly and Pepe. The studio house is very comfortable and spacious for two people and everything was super clean and well taken care of. Stargazing in the pool area is a must. This view is one of a kind in Vieques. We’ll be recomending this property to our friends and it will definitely not be our only time staying there.
Thoughtfully designed. Immaculately maintained. A slice of paradise.
You couldn't ask for a better home base for a Vieques adventure! The cottage is conveniently located in the middle of the island with easy access to the two towns, Isabel Segunda and Esperanza. The entrance to the Wildlife Refuge and its beautiful secluded beaches is just down the hill from the house - so close! The island is rugged and rustic making it the perfect destination for those looking to explore and discover. This is not a cookie-cutter resort vacation. The cottage provides every comfort you need - thoroughly clean, amazingly private, well appointed, and perfectly situated to watch the sunrise from the front door. All of the little extras made it so easy to relax immediately upon arrival - car (I recommend renting their Honda - so easy), snorkeling equipment, cooler, beach chairs, beach towels, toiletries, and sunscreen (much appreciated since it took us 3 days to find a market that wasn't sold out). Barbara was very informative and she provided us with a thorough introduction that set us on the right path for making the most of our stay. We enjoyed the sounds of nature - coqui frogs, horses, roosters - from the cottage and the view of the unpolluted night sky was tremendous from the pool bar. The bioluminescent bay is a must-see, bucket list item and we had an excellent tour in glass bottom kayaks with the company Kris and Barbara recommended, JAK Watersports. We lucked upon an exceptionally clear night when the stars were glittering just as brightly as the bio bay -- magical! Before you book your vacation be sure to check the moon cycle for optimal viewing conditions. Our weather in mid-January was 72-79 degrees, a little rainy (apparently rainy days are rare), and consistently windy. The wind made it a little cool for swimming. Therefore, the only thing we would change about the cottage is to add heat to the pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return to Vieques one day!
