My most recent review says- The beaches are within minutes and they are breathtaking in their beauty. If you love surfing and snorkeling, it is the place to be. We dined out at the local restaurants and were never disappointed. The people were friendly. My wife and I will most definitely return.

Located in the Northwest corner of the island, far away from the Metropolitan life of the "BIG CITY", you will appreciate the friendly, inviting nature of the people who call this place home. This is where all of the best beaches on the island are found. Within minutes of the house are the beaches called Jobos de Playa, Montones, Shacks Beach, and Crashboat beach. Whether your into Surfing, Boogie boarding, Paddle boarding, Wind surfing, Snorkling, Beach combing, or Sunbathing, it's all here for you to do.
For those of you who desire to experience what rural Puerto Rican life is like, this is the place to be. Here, the locals are friendly and informative should you need assistance. Near this home you can Horseback ride on the beach, Golf on great courses, Wine and dine at a variety of culinary treats. Also available - Small private airplane rides to anywhere you want to go around Puerto Rico, and even over to the Virgin Islands at very reasonable prices. FABULOUS - what a way to get the big picture of Paradise.
Within an hour of the house are underground caves to explore, and a "must see"- Worlds largest Radio telescope near Arecibo. (This is the one seen in the movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster.) Travel down the West end of the island and explore Cabo Rojo, here you see the lighthouse at the SouthWestern most tip of the island. See the beauty of Ponce which is near there.

This home has a full kitchen with breakfast bar, a dining room that seats 6 people comfortable, covered parking, Cable TV, WIFI, a beautiful landscaped yard with a gazebo for relaxing around the table outside, a outdoor shower (complete privacy) for rinsing the saltwater off after a day of fun at the beach. The home is secure, so that you can know as you travel the island or hang out on the numerous beaches, that your valuables are safe.
To make your stay easy, the house is a very short walk to a El Mana Bakery, serving up fresh baked goods daily and if you desire cooked meals, as well as many of the daily items you may need. There is also a brand new Mexican restaurant across the street. You can rent surfboards, paddleboards and beach umbrellas right down at the beach which is 3 minutes away by car. Surfing instruction is also available here. Just bring your swim trunks and bikinis, sandals, sunglasses and don't forget the suntan lotion!
You may want to fly United, Jet Blue and Spirit Airlines to and from Rapael Hernandez International Airport (code letters BQN). This is a international airport that will put you 15 minutes from my home. You can avoid the 2-1/2 hour drive from San Juan airport across the country to get to where all the fun is.

Fabulous Host
First off we would like to say that Hank is the most accommodating man that we have ever worked with. It was such a relief after our disastrous first few days on the other side of the island. Needless to say, we left the other side of the island and Hank let us come stay in his home earlier than we had anticipated. This is a clean, AIR CONDITIONED, well kept home with all the supplies you will need during your stay. The beds are comfortable and there was plenty of space for all 6 of us. The outdoor shower is a total bonus and very necessary if you plan on visiting one of the many wonderful beaches near this home. We did hear a few roosters but they were distant and didn't bother us at all. We found at least 8 great beaches nearby; not all of them are advertised well but if you do a little research and exploration you can find them. There are plenty of activities nearby for any age (even a 6 month old). The bakery across the street is great and although there is a Mexican restaurant across the street we did not have the opportunity to visit it. The property manager Elizabeth is very easy to get ahold of should you have questions. All in all, Hank saved our vacation!
