Two unique homes in a serene setting

Our small group of 5 families enjoyed our weekend at these two lovely homes. Linda is a terrific hostess who shares her environmentally-responsible property so well! We loved the fire pit!

eco friendly cabin and peaceful rest

I wish I could have spent more time at this lovely property. The eco cabin was spacious, clean, and homey. I slept soundly and felt well rested and relaxed during my stay. What a perfect location - the drive through the Smoky Mountain National Park was incredible.

Comfort in the Smokies!

While I stayed at Eco Rose Manor, I thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace room, its complete bathroom, and fully equipped second kitchen. Being in the mountains constantly adds to this lovely lodging as I went to sleep listening to crickets and awoke to birds chirping. Linda's beautiful property and extensive collection of books and movies may tempt you to stay in, but there is so much to explore in every direction! Water activities in Nantahala, hiking in Deep Creek, music in Sylva, and so much more is near (Franklin, Dillsboro, Cherokee, Highlands). Asheville is 1.5 hours away and definitely worth a trip! What makes this rental even better is Linda's friendly personality, knowledge of the area, and commitment to keeping a clean, eco friendly property!

peaceful interlude in the green zone

My lady and I stayed for several days at Linda's ecologically-minded enclave. No sound of traffic, elevator music or yelling in the distance. I'm talking total silence. This place is really out-of-the-way. Not that far from Asheville but quite secluded, deep into woods and farms but convenient to Bryson City, Franklin and Highlands, NC. Linda has created a peaceful and eco-friendly spot, with two beautiful stone houses. The rest is just landscape and woods. You're surrounded by greenery and natural peace. Great place to get away from it all! BTW, this place is motorcycle heaven for those so inclined. The roads are gorgeous and twisty!

Great location and a great house for families with kids

We spent a week at this house with extended family (two 70-something grandparents, four 40-something parents, and three kids under-10). Made s'mores on the firepit, looked for frogs and fireflies on the creek, and drove to Deep Creek every day for tubing, hiking, and playing. It was wonderful! I'll stay here again next time I'm in Bryson City.

Hammock by the Creek

Love this country mountain Property! Spent time relaxing in the Hammock by the Creek. Great fire pit area. Very clean and well furnished interiors, even organic coffee. Slept well in the peacefull fresh mountain air. We hiked the trails in Deep Creek, in the Smokey National. Park.

Quiet, secluded, lovely place

The Eco cabin & lower floor of house were very spacious & the owner gave us free rein of the place. The main road in & out is a motorcyclists' dream with 101 turns in about 4 miles. We had a great stay in the Smokies!

Strongly Recommend!!!

We've rented a lot of VRBO homes over the years, in a lot of different States, and a lot of different Countries too. Linda was by far the most gracious host we've ever encountered. We took our 14 year old son, along with some of his friends, and their parents to Bryson City for some trout fishing, hiking, sight seeing, train riding, and white water rafting. Linda's property was easy to find; very clean, teen friendly, multi-family accommodating, and located in a scenic setting. She went out of her way to make sure our visit went well. She even pointed out where the local's "honey hole" fishing locations were located. If you're ever planning a vacation in the smokey mountains, we strongly recommend renting Linda's property!!!

Mountain Hospitality

We had an Amazing time enjoying the property (which was extremely clean) and its surroundings. Linda (property owner) was more than helpful and quick to respond with any questions and infact went out of her way to help our group find fun activities that we wanted to do. I highly recommend this property and enjoy the Amazing Eco-Cabin that Linda designed and constructed. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend. When we returned one of the guests contacted realizing he left some personal belongings at the cabin. Linda found them and mailed them to him without hesitation. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!

HD Bikers Getaway

Eight men (7 bikes & 1 truck) headed to the NC/TN mountains for a 4-day getaway in search of great riding. We needed lodging for up to 10 and was lucky to find Linda's rentals. Linda was great in providing insight to the Rose Manor and Eco Cabin accommodations during our phone conversations. Linda made the scheduling really easy and was there to welcome us when we arrived. Linda provided enough bedding options that every guy had their own bed with a couple to spare. There are 3-4 King/Full/Double beds and a few twins spread around in different places if you need more. The highlight of the location is the fire pit and grill setup down the stone stairs from the lodging. We cooked out there 2 of 3 nights and talked, joked, laughed, and lied to each other until after midnight each evening. Although the driveway is grass/gravel it was very solid and we all drove up and parked next to the house. Another highlight for bikers is Linda's place is just off Hwy 28 so you get at least 5 miles of twisty road riding every time you leave from and come to the lodging. We were able to ride through the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, ride the Tail of the Dragon (US 129), and visit the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum in Maggy Valley, this is a must for any motorcycle enthusiast. Everywhere you go provided a wonderful view, great roads, and friendly people.

I found NIRVANA!

Setting up the rental was easy enough and the owner responded quickly with detailed information. Linda has a very keen sense and will help you rent appropriate lodging with a little info, this was greatly appreciated! Directions to Rose Manor were very accurate and finding it was very easy! Upon arriving, Linda introduced herself, walked me through the rental and shared any and all info I needed to know. She also is a gracious host and will guide you to some local places that you wouldn't find on your own, that make the stay extra special! She also has an uncanny ability to give you just what you need, as I arrived in great pain from a Fibromyalgia flare up, which she eased with a Kemp seed drink, that I accepted without hesitation. We discussed many things that might help me and after 12 years of no help from physicians, Linda cured a debilitating ailment, that I am still free of 3 days later! This goes beyond any expectation I could have ever asked for! I find her to be an accepting, open and very inspirational woman who is very humble, with a knowledge base of organic foods and healthy living, like no other! She is happy to share her time with you or let you spend your time quietly, absorbing the wonderful atmosphere Rose Manor emits. Be sure to visit all areas of the grounds, for they offer observing wildlife, butterflies, the calming sway of the trees and the beautiful gardens all around. I anxiously await my next visit, as soon as I have vacation time to come back! I've stayed in dozens of places in my life, but none leave the memory that I keep for myself, that Rose Manor and Linda gave me. I came as a guest and left a friend, thank you Linda, can't wait to visit again!

"I Don't Think We're in Kansas Any More Toto!"

My good friend and I take a long motorcyle ride each year from Kansas and this year we brought his younger son with us to North Carolina. We stayed three nights in the cabin at Rose Manor and it is a spectacular property and location. The photos on this site give one a good feel for the place, but in person, it is so much more impressive. The lower level creek, garden, and fire pit sitting area are great for quiet get-aways or group conversation alike. Likewise, the upper level decks and sitting areas are an open invitation to admire the surrounding beauty and enjoy good company. Being motorcyclists, location was very important and Rose Manor places the rider amidst one of the richest treasure troves of riding opportunities available anywhere in the US. Within a fifty mile radius of Rose Manor, we found some of the most challenging and/or scenic rides we have ever ridden. The best-known rides include Dragon's Tail, Cherhola Skyway, and Blue Ridge Parkway...but there are countless lesser known, even unnamed rides, that are more than memorable. Our favorite one was a shorter run on Hwy 28 from Franklin south to Highlands...great curves, pavement surface and pitching, plus a beautiful photo-op at Bridal Veil Falls. Just prior to our trip, my friend, our wives and I saw James Taylor in concert (Wichita) and "Carolina on My Mind" rings especially true now that we've sampled The Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas of southeastern NC. Our stay at Rose Manor couldn't have been better and we'll be looking for the opportunity to return again to enjoy more of the Carolinas and the special nuances of Linda's place and southern hospitality.
