Sunset Beach is a small, ocean-side town on the very southernmost tip of NC, partially on the mainland and part on the barrier island. Until recently, this island was accessible only by a one-lane barge bridge, but a causeway has now replaced this resulting in easier access.
 
If you are seeking a quiet, peaceful place to visit, Sunset Beach is the spot, having one of North Carolina’s most beautiful and well-preserved beaches! The barrier island is both a turtle sanctuary for the endangered loggerhead turtles, and Bird Island is a protected part of the North Carolina Coastal Reserve, including nearly 1,500 acres of marsh, intertidal flats and, of course, Atlantic Ocean beach!
 
From the 40th Street boardwalk, it is a gorgeous 2-mile walk to the Little River Inlet in South Carolina. Whether walking, jogging or biking, beach-goers may see many species of shoreline plant and animal life and seashells. And if you like seclusion, it is largely deserted during the winter months.
 
Our home is an 1100 square foot residence located on the mainland in Shoreline Woods, a quiet, peaceful neighborhood with great oak trees and a winding waterway that runs throughout the area. It is a great place to walk or bike ride in the early mornings and evenings. We offer a comfortable two-bedroom, two-bath home, surrounded by trees and beautiful landscaping. The home is less than a mile from the new causeway to the island, and 1.8 miles from the Sunset Beach Pier!
 
This is a family owned second home that we would enjoy sharing with you! (We are not affiliated with any rental agency.) This beautiful brick home features lovely landscaping and natural garden areas, and is situated on a quiet corner lot with partial views of the intracoastal waterway! This home is in a great neighborhood location with a short drive to the Beach! Our 2-bedroom home sleeps four (2 couples, or family of up to 4) comfortably.
 
Accommodations include -- in the master bedroom, a bay window with a double bed, ceiling fan and private bath; the second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, ceiling fan, and access to the main bath which contains a brand new washer and a brand new dryer. The living area has a sofa, a leather recliner, a dining table with 4 chairs, ceiling fan and views of intracoastal canal from the front windows and open porch off the living room. There is a flat-screen TV in the living area as well, and we have cable TV. We also have Wi-Fi. The kitchen has a skylight, and a small bay window over the sink which also overlooks the intracoastal canal. In the fall through spring (outside temperature permitting), you can relax on the large, screened-in porch, complete with tables, sofa, chairs, lounger, light and ceiling fan. The porch has a vinyl window system, each window with 4 movable vinyl panels, allowing you to create your own indoor-outdoor atmosphere! There is a single carport located away from the house that contains a grill and chairs. The garage has two beach umbrellas, coolers, four beach chairs, and a couple of boogie boards for use at the beach. There are also two bicycles, but these are for use in the neighborhood only. There are bike rentals (Julies Rentals) for the beach on the island.
 
Small (under 20 pounds) house-trained pets are welcome, but we would like to know if you plan to bring your small pet. This is a non-smoking home, inside and out!
 
Guests must be over 25 years old to rent! To keep costs to you down, we do not have linen or cleaning services, so we request you leave the property ready for the next guest. We do provide linens, but you must launder prior to your departure. You may opt to bring your own linens, or check with Julies Rentals on the island.
 
The grocery store is about ½ mile away from the house, and is an easy bike ride (one of our bikes has a large basket on the back).
 
To gain access to the beach, there is a beach pass in my home that guests may use to park at the pier for free (it does not get you onto the pier). It is also permissible to parallel park for free on Main Street or W. N. Shore Drive near any of the beach access boardwalks, which are located across from every block street corner.
 
We prefer for guests to stay Saturday to Saturday during the high season (May to September). Please request dates on Saturdays during the summer.
 
Guests are required to returned a signed rental agreement prior to entry.

This property is in great condition and very clean. Perfect location to anything you want to do

The owner Karen was very helpful and responded fast to all my questions I had. The house has everything you could need even bikes. It’s located close to everything lots of restaurants to choose from as close as a 2 min drive or 20 min to north Myrtle Beach there are a lot of shopping options close bye and plenty of places to fish and a very nice bait store called Dave’s outpost must stop in they have everything there are 2 boat launches within a mile or so of the house that was very nice because we took our kayaks everyone in and around the neighborhood was nice and friendly I will be staying here again and again it’s perfect for everyone and everything the fishing was awesome we caught a lot of trout and red drum. The house was very clean and organized it was easy to keep clean because of the hardwood floors. We all really enjoyed our stay and recommend you stay here next time your looking for the perfect place at the beach. Once again thank you so much Karen for all your help and time we enjoyed your property and will be looking forward to booking again
