Jon met us at the gates upon our arrival and showed us around and took us up to the office to get brackets etc. I guess you could get around without a car (others do) but it wouldn't have made our trip very enjoyable, so the day after we arrived we went into Tulum to rent one (which was half the price of what we were quoted in Cancun). We also enjoyed venturing around, going to Coba, Tulum, Playa... out for dinner, getting groceries. Best place to grocery shop for us was Puerta Aventuras just off the highway, they had the best produce. My husband used the gym a few times at TAO wellness centre but preferred the one at the Bahia resort. My son made some friends while playing at the Bahia beach, and they have stayed in touch, even making plans to get together next year. We stayed for 17 days over the holidays and there weren't any parties or loud neighbours once! It is peaceful with lots of birds chatting. We chose TAO because of the golf course, which we played every day. The golf course design and course condition was awesome. The beds are really comfortable. The wifi worked and we had Netflix (with a 10 year old these were a ). A few things need a little attention, they dryer didn't work and the master bath shower pressure was very low and the sink wouldn't drain. I'm sure the property manager took care of it, as we mentioned it when we checked out. Staying more than a few days, you might think of booking cleaning service, so you don't have to do it! That's something I will definitely arrange next time. Thanks for the hospitality!

The place was very clean and well equipped My one complaint is if arriving after six they have no good maps or street signs. All the ones we received were really not clear and didn't show places we could eat ect.

Loved everything about it!
John was an excellent host - - one of the best I've ever dealt with. His place is in emaculate condition and it was nice that John prepared us well for our arrival. His condo is situated 8-10 minutes from Akumal Bay, 20 minutes from Tulum, and 25-30 minutes from Playa del Carmen. The price was more than reasonable. We set our sights low prior to arrival but our expectations were well exceeded when we arrived. I highly recommend this condo for anyone looking for an amazing deal.
