Stunning 16th Century cottage which has been beautifully restored to an exceptionally high standard in the centre of Rye. Shops, restaurants and local pubs are 100 yards away and Camber Sands beach is 3 miles away. Perfect getaway for sight seeing in Rye, attending a wedding or a lazy day on the beach! Easy walk from the station and a short walk to the local play park and leisure centre. Private parking spot for the duration of your stay, which is a godsend in Rye!
The space
3 Double Bedrooms (one is a family room with double and single bed) 2 bathrooms, sleeps up to 6 Adults + 1 Child.
Guests will have access to full use of the house, Wifi, SMART TV so so you can catch up on your Netflix box sets and a personal fave - a PS4 and games!
All bedrooms will have Egyptian cotton, crisp linen. Perfect for the good nights sleep. The Master Bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, w/c and hand basin. All bedrooms will have linen and towels included.
The Bathroom is gorgeous with a claw foot bath to calm the stresses of the mind, a shower big enough for a small football team (not tested!) and a corner fireplace to retain the original charm of this house.
Fully equipped kitchen for the budding chefs! Electric oven with high-speed halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a lovely wall bench with extending seating for six. There is a washer and dryer hiding away in a cupboard. Detergents will also be included for both. Doorway to rear patio.
You can enjoy two gardens, communal one at the front and a private patio to the rear with garden furniture. A definite sun trap for the morning coffee or the evening glass of wine.
I have a designated parking space less than 1 minutes walk from the cottage. If you are travelling with more than one car I can show you another space, but this is on a first come, first served basis. Pay and display car park is within 100 yards.
In the chiller months, the wood-burning stove will give ample heat with the first basket of logs provided. Gas central heating user friendly thermostat mean that you control when you want it to be hot or not.
Other things to note
Please note that the property is near to a road junction so you may hear traffic noise of vehicles from the front rooms. This is common in Rye given how close you are to the centre.

Delightful pre Xmas weekend getaway with girlfriends.
Delightful pre Xmas weekend getaway with girlfriends. The house was home from home, beautifully furnished and we felt very cosy and at home. Rye is a delightful place and we were there for the Xmas festival and enjoyed mooching down the High St on Saturday with the road closed to cars. Advent Choral concert at St Marys church on Sunday night was wonderful and a great start to Christmas. Fab dinner at Webbes on Saturday and The George on Monday. All in all a perfect weekend.

Stylish house, beautifully furnished and decorated.
Stylish house, beautifully furnished and decorated. Great location minutes from main high street. Great pubs and restaurants within a few minutes (Globe Inn, Lemongrass Thai, Waterworks micropub. Knoops hot chocolate are within a couple of minutes and other great restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes). Easy parking close by. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Rye is a lovely place to stay - we chose it for Halloween because of its ancient buildings and history. We visited Lamb House, the castle, Rye Harbour (recommend the walk to red hut and coffee at visitor centre overlooking nature reserve), National Trust Bodiam Castle (on Kent and Sussex Railway), Dungeness (great fish shack near the famous black and yellow cottage) on the Hythe and Romney narrow guage and Hastings for the day. Would also recommend Grove Farm for horseriding which is only 5 minutes drive. We could have done lots more (Camber, Winchelsea) and seen more of Hastings (art gallery, museums but ran out of time

Great location for exploring Rye on foot and the surrounding area by car.
Great location for exploring Rye on foot and the surrounding area by car. Parking space close by was very convenient. The cottage had a well stocked kitchen and all the amenities we needed for 6 adults without feeling cramped.

We stayed in Sophie's cottage during the 'great Rye
We stayed in Sophie's cottage during the 'great Rye water leak of 2023' so were surviving off bottled water and limited water pressure, all while preparing for our wedding on the Saturday.

I can’t even say enough good things about our stay at Sophie’s place in Rye.
I can’t even say enough good things about our stay at Sophie’s place in Rye. After a busy visit in London, Rye was just what our family needed to refresh and enjoy the beauty of English countryside! The home was beautiful, clean, and so cozy. We immediately felt at home! All amenities we needed for our stay were provided and easy to find. The kitchen was lovely and well stocked, the living room was cozy and so well decorated, with lovely big blankets and pillows and a stocked fireplace. The bedrooms were private and we rested so deeply on the white down bedding… it was absolutely dreamy. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms for our family of 5.
