Welcome to No.16, a holiday home as from December 2018.
An approx. 500 year-old house of character which has been luxuriously restored to meet today's modern standards, yet retaining abundant traditional features for guests to enjoy a UNIQUE experience.
Property is accessed through a private entrance on a pedestrianised street. It is in a good and quiet location, close to the main square with several historical highlights easily reachable by foot together with many restaurants and cafeterias.
The space
GROUND FLOOR
The oldest part of the house is the ground floor which consists in a modern and spacious hall/dining area (seating 6 to 8) and interlinked with a fully equipped and modern kitchen (dishwasher & microwave also). Glass flooring and particular lighting was introduced to appreciate the discovery of a cellar and deep bell-shaped water reservoir which were excavated within the rock by hand hundreds of years ago . The restored traditional stone arches at ground floor give a particular feeling to the property.
A modern spiral staircase (1.20m diameter) in timber and steel from the hall/dining gives access to the first floor.
FIRST FLOOR
The first floor consists in a very spacious living room with a large fabric double sofa (can transform into a double bed) together with a 42” LCD TV (with around 30 channels) and an ethanol fireplace, a single bedroom and a separate shower room. The living room also includes an area with some toys and books for the younger generation and floor pouffes ;).
A travertine (natural stone with a gloss finish) staircase leads to the second floor.
SECOND FLOOR
The second floor consists in two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower and the other with a separate bathroom on the same floor. Both bedrooms have separate open balconies overlooking the streetscape.
THIRD FLOOR (ROOF)
At roof level, one finds a washroom (incl. a washing machine and washing essentials), together with two terraces (one at the back and a larger one on the front), a place for relaxation, winding down and entertainment after a busy day out. :) A good view of the St. Dominic Church's bell tower can be appreciated and enjoyed from these terraces. Outdoor dining table, deck chairs and a BBQ can be enjoyed here.
All internal spaces are fully equipped with air-conditioning (heating in winter and cooling in summer).
Guest access
Guests will have access to the whole property at ground floor, first floor, second floor and roof level. Extra bedrooms might not be accessible if not required for the particular stay.

I had an amazing stay at this historic house
I had an amazing stay at this historic house in Città Vittoriosa. Sara and Consiglio made the booking and self-check-in process incredibly easy with their quick and clear communication. The house blends history with modern comforts, situated in a charming neighborhood for an authentic Maltese experience. Though we never met, Sara and Consiglio were always a message away, offering local tips and quick answers to my questions. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore Malta from a comfortable, historic base.
