An ancient farmhouse already dating back to 1280, but fully restored and very comfortable. Large pool (9.10 m x 4.60 m; 50,000) liters water. An ancient farmhouse dating back to 1280. Renovated in a rustic style (hand cooked brick, chestnut beams, etc.), but with modern bio-architecture techniques, it offers complete relaxation and all the comforts (large kitchen, living room, 6 bedrooms for 11 people, 4 bathrooms, equipped outdoor terraces, garden, forest, large pool (9x4, 60m), satellite TV, WiFi internet access and free national phone). On the hill in front is the ancient village of Sovicille (350 m in the air). The farm (7000 square meters of green) is in the area of the park "La Montagnola". The area is so quiet that sometimes you see deer adventuring on the lawn behind the house; there are also rare birds, squirrels, etc. that live among the centuries-old oaks. Beautiful home But she would need a little refresh. Too bad! for example curtains downstairs taped room! shower head, completely entertained and especially the pool lack of safety especially for children dangerous balustrade, broken pillar of light pool really outdated!! Too bad

We were looking for a roomy villa in Tuscany
We were looking for a roomy villa in Tuscany where we could relax with friends and family (10 people in total) following our son’s wedding in Pisa — and we couldn’t have made a better choice than Podere Rota. With 6 comfortable bedrooms and 4 bathrooms to choose from, we all had plenty of private and public space as well as beautiful grounds, a cooling swimming pool, and views back to the charming village of Sovicille, a 10-minute walk from the house. When we weren’t out exploring the local sights or drinking espresso at the local cafe-bar, we spent many happy hours cooking together and eating in the large, well-equipped kitchen or under the outdoor pergola, where we hosted a leisurely birthday lunch one day that was attended by 13 people and fully catered by Bernhard’s niece Simona. Bernhard was a friendly and attentive host, very communicative about the house and property, always quick to answer a question or offer a suggestion. Highly recommended!

A remarkable place ! The quite spacious house, with its beautiful pool in a big garden surrounded by greenery, has a very peaceful atmosphere. We all felt very well there. Besides, we had a little problem with our flight back to France and Bernhard, the kind owner, was very helpful .

Bernhard is an amazing host, he is very responsive and when we needed something he provided help right away. The house is great and has all the amenities to provide a nice and relaxing holiday. The location is amazing: very quiet but restaurants are close, Siena only 15 minutes. Perfect location to discover the Tuscany region. If we stay again close to Siena we would not look any further. The home is situated on a beautiful semi-private piece of land and offers plenty of peace and quiet. It was a bit more isolated than I expected but after a few days it began to grow on eight of us. Coming from America it took time to adjust to the non-commercial aspect of Sovicille. Be prepared to spend time searching for restaurants and stores in nearby villages which can be fun if you maintain the right attitude and have a car. Not much in Sovicille except classic Italian village architecture, a cappucino bar and wonderful people. Bus to Siena was easy but check all travel with information office in town. Beatrice was a tremendous help. She also speaks several languages. There was very little detailed directions to surrounding businesses provided in the home but don't let that discourage you. The country has many hidden gems. Overall a good experience. Mike S

It's a very nicely located, generous property. The equipment is good, only the outdoor systems are in need of refreshment. The small place is very conveniently located to beautiful excursion destinations and offers everything you need for everyday life.

We had a great stay in Sovicelle at Bernhard’s Home.
We had a great stay in Sovicelle at Bernhard’s Home. Our family loved the outdoor space (especially the hammock!) and the inside was very homey. The location is an easy launching point for Sienna and local wineries. We loved walking into the town center for coffee, a meal, some groceries, and the playground. There are larger grocery stores, a fabulous winery and amazing restaurants just 5-10 minutes away! Simone was a lovely host - very responsive! One thing to note: the upstairs and downstairs parts of the home have a separate entrance, separated by a few feet. It was tough to manage this with a small child (our 2 year old) but would be fine (and probably really liked!) by older children. We recommend this place to others!
