We have some exciting news for Minster House in 2021! We have built a very snazzy indoor spa and wet room which is now included in the price for any new bookings made from November 2021. The hot tub seats 6 people with a seating area next to it, so that guests can all sit and relax together. The spa comes with Bluetooth speakers and lighting and is the perfect place to relax, in complete privacy after a day of sightseeing and shopping. Check out the photos on our site.

Minster House is a mix of City Centre living and home comforts and is set back approximately 20 meters off the beautiful and historic road of Bootham. Passing the grand Georgian Registry Office, 2 local shops for convenience foods, a quaint circular tower plus the fine Georgian buildings of Bootham School. This then leads you directly to the beautiful 'Bootham Bar the gate to the City Walls all within 5 minutes!!

Even better still, the famous York Minster (the cathedral) is just beyond these City Walls plus the rest of the tourist attractions, restaurants and shops etc.

Bootham Bar is the gateway to the famous narrow cobbled streetsof York. Full of a quirky mix of curio shops and cafes with street entertainers, the Shambles and various Museums, The Yorvik Viking Centre and so much more is within a short distance. In fact Minster House really is a perfect combination of an excellent base for high quality family accommodation and Location, Location, Location.

Great house in a superb location

Stayed with friends for three nights, and we had a great time. The location of the property is fabulous ... just five minutes walk outside the city walls, and far enough out to enjoy decent parking and a fairly quiet location. There was a well equipped kitchen, plenty of space to relax in, and a thoughtful welcome pack of tea/coffee/milk/biscuits etc. Hot tub was an added bonus! The host, Janet, was great to communicate with ... quick to respond and very friendly. York is a wonderful city to stay in ... lots of unique pubs full of character, great places to eat, and more history than you can shake a stick at.

Fantastic property

My husband and I are University faculty and were traveling with a group of 7 students working on a film project. This home was absolutely perfect for our needs - extremely comfortable, plenty of space for everyone, a well appointed kitchen and enough bathrooms for everyone. It is ideally situated - very close to City Center but far enough away to be very quiet. A very short walk to the train station, and several restaurants and other amenities within 5-10 minute walk. The garden was a beautiful luxury and was a wonderful place to have a few moments quiet before some very long and busy days. Janet is a wonderful host- fantastic communication, she checked in on us regularly, offered a complimentary mid-stay linen change, answered all questions we had along the way, and we felt most welcome. She is a delightful person in every respect. Thank you for a wonderful stay in York - we will definitely recommend to others!
