Description

A very special private waterfront luxury Virgin Gorda villa for rent on its own private peninsula , this 7-bedroom vacation rental home sits at the end of Mattie Point, with water on three sides and Gorda Peak behind. South Sound ( A BVI designated marine sanctuary) is a spectacular secluded area of Virgin Gorda, where you hear the waves breaking on the reef and your neighbors are pelicans, turtles and fish. To one side you'll see the Hurricane Hole and to the other is Great Hill. On the far side of Great Hill are fun places to visit such as Biras Creek, Saba Rock, and Bitter End Yacht Club, all on Virgin Gorda. Swim in the infinity edge pool overlooking the sound or snorkel off the private dock to some of the best underwater viewing on the island of Virgin Gorda.

General Information

- A cement driveway and parking area provide access to the villa. Perimeter fencing and cattle guards will keep the cattle away.

- We have selected a wide variety of flowering plants as well as trees.

- The entire villa has tile floors, including decks and balconies.

- All beds are pillow-top.

- Each bedroom has its own bathroom with shower, plus a closet, dresser, accessory seating, ceiling fan and a remote-control air conditioner.

- 6 of the bedrooms have sliding glass doors to a covered balcony with additional seating. (The 7th bedroom is pool level so it has the entire pool area plus deck.) Balconies look out to the sound, ocean, pool.

- Two additional closets serve the entire villa. The large one in the kitchen contains items including beach towels and first aid. One just inside the pool wing has spare linens, pillows, towels, etc.

The Main House

This Virgin Gorda rental vacation villa has been designed to let the ocean breezes and sunlight surround you.  The tile main floor is a free flowing area, including a living room with a built-in CD entertainment system and 55 inch HDTV (streaming service from USA gets you all the TV apps as well as Netflix, Direct TV, etc) , dining room and fully equipped kitchen with a seating island  for drinks. Our living room has a rattan sofa, a love seat , other chairs and tables.  Sliding glass doors along both front and back of the villa open to beautiful ocean views of Virgin Gorda.  A 12 foot wide covered front deck stretching the entire length of the house (56 ft) is a great place for a casual lunch, a romantic candlelit dinner or drinks while relaxing on our outdoor furniture..  The  8 foot wide covered garden deck, has a BBQ area with a propane stainless steel BBQ Grill,  Even the main floor bathroom extends into the outdoors, through sliding glass doors to the glass block enclosed double shower. We have a wheelchair ramp for ease of access to the first floor bedrooms and living areas. On the ground floor tiled deck enjoy your afternoon nap in one of the two hammocks.

The kitchen, with a large center island, is equipped with all new appliances, a large side-by-side ice maker GE refrigerator,  GE microwave, GE dishwasher, and GE electric self cleaning smooth top four burner range.  A complete set of kitchen utensils, small appliances and cookware is provided as well as glasses/dinnerware for 16. We also maintain a  large selection of spices and condiments/supplies for your use. The dining area has a wine cooler for your beverages, a coffee serving area and a table for 12.  We have a 20 ft wall of walnut cabinets, so lots of storage.

Upstairs, you will find two bright and cheery bedrooms. One bedroom has a king size bed  and the other bedroom has two twin beds.  A bridge connects the bedrooms.

Wonderful place to get away.

Great place for a family gathering. The owner was very helpful throughout our whole planning process. Feel safe to go directly through the owner when booking if you don’t want to pay the high VRBO fees. The house is well maintained and off the beaten path for those that enjoy peace and quiet.

Newly-Renovated, spectacular villa!

The newly-renovated South Sound Villa is an absolutely gorgeous destination. The secluded location makes you feel like you’re on your own private island. The house sits on a point, so it boasts full 270-degree ocean views. You can see the water from every single bedroom! We watched the sunrise over the sound and got to see sea turtles and dolphins swimming in the water below the house. We even got to see a beautiful rainbow one of the days! The villa includes everything you need to have a great vacation. It is so beautiful, you won’t even want to leave the house. The pictures online don’t do it justice - don’t hesitate to book!

Pink beach castle on a hill

Stunning views of the ocean from every window in the house. Lovely falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing, waking up to the sunrise over the ocean directly from the balcony. The beds were super comfortable. My favorite part was relaxing on the hammocks under the house with what felt like a green screen view to gaze at. I also loved getting to workout on the stairs down to the ocean dock and snorkel right from the house. There was some incredible sea life and coral swimming around the sound. You feel like you are both at the beach and in the mountains, next to a farm and in the desert all in one on this property, truly unique terrain. Was an incredible stay on Virgin Gorda.

Absolutely wonderful

The pictures do not do it justice. South Sound Villa is a spacious, immaculate, comfortable, home away from home. All the amenities you need- well stocked kitchen, linens, entertainment options, even individual Keurigs and mini refrigerators in some of the bedrooms. The sunrises are spectacular. Great snorkeling and kayaking in the sound. Restaurants and marinas are a short drive away. We really enjoyed having both private bedroom balconies as well as larger places to gather. Thorsten is a wonderful host, very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

If there was a 10 Star Rating, the South Sound Villa would get it. You can’t replicate the location. Relaxation and Serenity is world class. The Villa is simply amazing. Our family spent 3 weeks here. In the words of my son in law , “best damn vacation ever”. But let me also elaborate on Thorsten Cook the owner, and his son Steve . Unsurpassed customer focus and attention to detail. Responded immediately on all inquiries, and provided recommendations on any request. Words cannot explain. You have to see it, and live it…we will be back.

Incredible experience!!

Beautiful property!! Very clean, great communication, endless amenities. It was great to be in such an untouched part of the island in the South Sound. Truly felt like we had the whole island to ourselves! The host was very responsive and helpful. 10/10 recommend.

Perfect combo of secluded relaxation AND adventure

This heavenly villa is tucked away in its own magical secluded oasis. There are literally butterflies flying all around South sound, a near by farm that you can walk to and get fresh vegetables, beautiful tropical flowers blooming everywhere, and exquisite views of the mountains and ocean. Every bedroom in the house has incredible ocean views that you can open your eyes to first thing in the morning or crack the window and let the waves wash you to sleep. The rooms and showers are spacious and the bed very comfortable. Every room has a private patio to have space to yourself to have a morning meditation or read or you can gather with your whole group on the patio by the kitchen and have breakfast together or some morning group yoga. The view from the pool is straight out of a post card and though the pool was a little cold it was perfectly refreshing to cool off from the sun or after a workout. We used the private dock to kayak around the sound and snorkel and dive. I also used the deck stairs to workout on and it was quite the workout! I enjoyed the fun beachy platters and bowls that they had for dinners we cooked. We used the big tv to watch movies at night and the coffee table to play family games. This is definitely a perfect spot for a big group of friends or family getaway where there is much space to go off and explore on your own but also congregate together. And the most beautiful beaches in the world are only a short drive away, as well as North sound with many water sport options and restaurants. I also really love the conch island in the sound that you can kayak to and pick your own from endless mounds. I love Virgin Gorda in general for the opportunity to sail, kite surf, Scuba dive, snorkel, relax on quiet yet stunning beaches, and explore the Baths!!

Blue waters Galore!!

Beyond Paradise..seclusion, snorkling, cooking, BBQ and relaxation on the deck with endless water views a must for all..The home is huge and cozy..You will be spoiled once you find this spot...and the island has local markets to buy anything and all you need to cook, and or go to numerous top restaurants for relaxing delicious dinners.. The Locals rae the greatest, kindest people..and if you are Church going, attend the catholic Mass at 930 am in Spanish town..so fun and all are given a very warm welcome...I found paradise and more..You will too!!

Fun in the sun

Had a great stay at the South Sound Villa. We hardly had to leave since there is so much to do right there. We kayaked, swam, snorkeled, had lazy afternoons by the pool. The large deck off the main rooms is wonderful for meals (or just swinging in the hammock or the hammock chair) - protected from the sun and gets the ocean breezes. The villa is so colorful, with beach and island decor in every room. It's also just a quick trip to grocery stores, restaurants and the North Sound ferries.
