Description

Ground Floor apartment located in Nador Street, in the prestigious, central area of District 5. After passing through the shabby chic charm of a typical 19th century Hungarian courtyard, you reach our cosy apartment which has been renovated in a sympathetic fashion; keeping some special features such as the vaulted brick ceiling, whilst furnishing and equipping it to an excellent modern standard. The accommodation is spread over two floors, with the kitchen, eating and living area downstairs, and the spacious bedroom upstairs. There are several dozens of restaurants close by, from inexpensive all the way to first class international cuisine. In fact you are only two minutes away from some of the best and most popular restaurants in Budapest including the Michelin star rated Borkonyha (Wine Kitchen). All forms of public transport -metro, tram and bus are also in the immediate area. The Danube and the beautiful Chain Bridge are a 1 minute walk, and you can visit all the top Budapest attractions on foot. Our English speaking taxi driver can meet you at the airport or train station and take you to the apartment.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS A NARROW STAIRCASE IN THE APARTMENT TO THE UPPER FLOOR WITH UNEVEN STEPS. I'M SORRY BUT IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES. THERE IS ALSO A SMALL STEP DOWN AS YOU ENTER THE APARTMENT.

A fantastic property

The apartment is fantastic we have booked there for our honeymoon and anniversary and was as wonderful The second time as the first. I thoroughly recommend this property but i must admit the price stuns me and the owner should raise it a bit more. Because it would still be worth every penny.

Would love to return

Excellent location and short walk to nearest sightseeing, supermarkets, metro

Great Location - Comfortable Space

Bridgette was great with communication. There ended up being a last minute issue with the original property we booked, but she was able to move us over to another property nearby very easily. We were very grateful for that so we didn't have to stress about finding a new space on short notice. The location is great - everything is very walkable and there are cafes and eateries all around. There's also a metro stop close by as well. Very easy for transportation. Having Atilla pick us up was wonderful - we were exhausted by the time we landed so it was nice to have someone ready and waiting for us. He's also very easy to communicate with and quick to respond - good suggestions for things to do. He brought us back to the airport on our last day as well. We found everyone to be super helpful and very friendly. Loved our stay - everything was great.

Location

Small but comfortable. Excellent location. Stairs to the bedroom a bit of a challenge due to steepness.

Very Central Location

Pros - location is very close to Basilica, Shoes on the Danube and most sites. Accommodation is very safe and secure. Very comfortable bed. Kitchen very well equipped. Attila is easily accessible and very helpful. Bridgett (Host) responds quickly to queries. Bus stop outside the door. Metro and trams a very short walk away. Absolutely no traffic noise. Lots of restaurants close by - some even straight across the street. *** If you are an EU citizen and you are over 65 ALL public transport is FREE for you in Hungary with photographic ID card. Cons - We found that due to the structural design of these courtyard buildings artificial light has to be turned on, on a constant basis as there are no windows in the building except for glass panels on the door. In the mornings it was difficult to determine if it was sunny or dull as the courtyard door is a solid panel door and the buildings are 5 storeys high. On opening the courtyard door it was a treat to see if the sun was shining. There is a step that one has to be very careful of just inside the front door. The stairs are a bit of a challenge as all the steps are not uniform and it is quite steep. The toilet being downstairs is great by day but an inconvenience at night due to the bedroom being upstairs but it may not be a problem for everyone.
