Description

Discover the Applecross Peninsula from this stunning holiday property. Enjoy walks, cycling and climbing or just enjoy the scenery.. Nestled into the hillside, in a sheltered and secluded position, and enjoying some of the most spectacular views imaginable, Tigh An Iasgair is a superb, detached, architect-designed house situated on the Applecross Peninsula. This stunning, warm and light-filled property is beautifully presented throughout, with great attention to detail. The main living area is open plan. With high vaulted ceilings and large patio doors it is exceptionally light and spacious. A large multi-fuel stove acts a focal point. The patio doors open onto a paved patio, a wonderful spot to sit and drink in the views of sea, mountains and open countryside. The grounds lead down to the sea shore below. There is a beautiful sheltered beach 4 minutes away at the end of Fearnbeg village.

There are three large bedrooms, all superbly presented. Tigh An Iasgair, Gaelic for The Fisherman’s House, is completely eco-friendly, with a ground source heat pump supplying the underfloor heating throughout. Applecross Peninsula is renowned for its wild, rugged and unspoilt beauty. Until the building of this coastal road from Shieldaig, Applecross was one of the most inaccessible parishes in mainland Britain, with the only route being the very scenic but hair-raising ‘Pass of the Cattle’, or Bealach na Ba. Rising up to 2053ft, it is the highest road in Scotland and affords truly panoramic views across the Minch to Raasay and the Isle of Skye. The other route gently winds along the coast round Loch Torridon from Shieldaig.

This is a fantastic area for hill walking, climbing in the Torridon Hills, kayaking around the coast and cycling the quiet lanes with amazing views around almost every corner. The surrounding region is a delight for nature lovers and the area is home to pine martens, wildcats, badgers and otters as well as buzzards and golden eagles. Shop, pub and restaurant 7 miles..
