Description
Originally an 18th.century farm house built from local stone, overlooking Barleycove beach, Crookhaven harbour and the Islands beyond. Restored by the local architect it offers every modern facility whilst retaining the charm of its origins. The wooden floor and open beamed ceiling on the ground floor accommodate the large open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. The cottage is a cosy and romantic getaway where you can walk for miles through an unspoiled landscape, or visit the neighbouring villages, take a boat to the Islands or just relax, de-stress and listen to the birdsong and the tranquil sound of the sea.

Perfect place to get away from it all
We had a lovely time here. The house is comfortable, well equipped and spotless, although probably challenging for elderly or mobility impaired visitors. Plenty of varied hiking trails around the nearby villages. Great place to get far away from it all.

Cottage with Fabulous Sea View
The cottage is located down a narrow grassy path with ample parking in the yard. Access to the cottage is down steps with the wall of the cottage to the left but open with no supports to the right of these steps. The ground floor is an open layout as described with the shower room and separate toilet behind the stairs down 2 steps, each with their own door. The bedrooms are on the upper floor using the roof space via a spiral staircase which is both steep and narrow - it was an inconvenience that there was no toilet upstairs. The accommodation was of a lower standard when compared to my previous rental experiences with VRBO however this was offset to some extent by the fabulous sea view. We enjoyed our week exploring the area by car and foot.
