Beautiful, clean, friendly, spacious

This was really a beautiful resort. Grounds are gorgeous, right on the golf course - husband was happy - our room was near the relaxation pool/hot tub. It was so nice to have a recreation pool that was separated from the relaxation pool. All the families with little kids were over there (my kids are grown and there was a time when I wanted the rec pool but not now). The only bad thing is the rec pool closes at 8pm, so families would bring little kids over to the relaxation pool which is open 24 hours. Service at the poolside bar was fantastic, though the very young bartended did NOT know how to make a good whiskey sour. So we saved our money and stuck with just non-alcoholic drinks. The golf course was nice and the concierge fit my husband into their schedule. They offer a shuttle to the other resort which is nearby but that resort was PACKED with kids so we only went once. They also offer shuttle service to nearby grocery stores which was a nice service that we didn't use, but good to know. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and they have every kitchen item you might need. Nice to have a washer/dryer in unit.

Beautiful! Loved the Villas and the pool!

Our family stayed at the resort for 3 nights, and the Villa for 3 nights (we had a return package from a trip to the resort last year). My husband and our 2 adult daughters went. we really loved the Villas. Especially the pools! We spent all days at the activity pool, and got a cabana. For owners, the cabana is only $50/day. well worth it because it had a table and chairs to get in from the heat if you wanted some shade. We played cards out there, had lunch out there, (they have service and great food!)... and also they had some fun activities all day long. We were there the first week in May and the pool was not crowded at all! Some things were still closed like the poolside bar, but the service was still there, so we didnt mind. The room we had was a one-bedroom King, and a pullout couch in the living area. Very clean and lots of space. A nice kitchenette as well. We will be back!

UP & RUNNING YET?

We have not visited our favorite vacation spot since October 2019, due to the pandemic (but the review could not be submitted without selecting a specific travel date). This is one location we look forward to returning to, post-pandemic. The Villas have been a part of our annually vacation plans since 2005. In a time when the world has been upside down for so long, it is imperative to find a "new normal" which includes lounging at the Westin Villas relaxation pool, golfing, but most importantly, learning new and interesting tasty facts about wine, via the wine tastings and dinners, with wine-guru, Tony Miller! If your idea of an excellent vacation includes totally getting away from the hustle-and-bustle of a too busy life, this is the place to be! I'm ready to go! Stephanie R. Brown

Great Place to Stay!

We stayed here for one week in a one bedroom villa. We had a view of the golf course. Our villa was spacious and clean. I used the exercise room several times and it was clean and well supplied. We spent a day at the Resort Hotel and the lazy river. I highly recommend this fun time, it was not busy and it was spacious. Overall the staff was super friendly and the resort was clean, well supplied and just a beautiful place to visit. Thank you!

So enjoyable!

Our second stay at Westin Kierland Villas. Greeted by friendly Bell Staff and efficiently checked in. The villa was great - clean and sanitized. Well stocked although we could have used an extra bar of soap. Pool is salt water and very refreshing. The food and drinks served at the pool were awful. Improvements are sorely needed. I ordered the Drink of the Day - a Pineapple Paloma and could only taste club soda- if there was pineapple in it it was just a splash. It was bitter and I had the waiter take it away. We ordered chips and pico. The pico was good but a tiny amount. The chips were Tostitos! Arizona is Mexican food heaven - why would a classy place like the Westin serve gas station chips instead of homemade??? The next day we ordered the quesadilla - it was burned. One great feature about the pool is the large glasses of ice water that are brought around on a regular basis. Nice touch! And great staff at the pool! The food at the resort however is wonderful!!! As is the service. Interesting experience: We had asked the Villa concierge about live music in the area and she mentioned a restaurant close by for live music. Went there - noisy crowded and it was a singer singing to recorded music. Awful. We left disappointed and went back to the hotel lobby bar and there was a great guitarist! We had a couple of drinks in the comfy lounge and enjoyed the live music we were seeking! Gotta wonder why the Villa concierge didn?t mention the music in the hotel lobby bar!! We had an issue with the lock on our Villa door but it was handled promptly by friendly, efficient and apologetic engineers. The staff who work the Bell Desk and shuttled us were very quick and so enjoyable! Especially Dennis - friendly and funny! He is also knowledgeable about the area. Overall enjoyed our stay and will return!

Going above and beyond

We were amazed by the level of service we received at the guest services from the staff. Robert was amazing and went above and beyond professionally to make us feel more at home anyway he could . Thank you

Great Visit

We arrived on Monday, February 15th on the tail end of Valentine's/President's Day weekend. It was great timing because everyone else was leaving and the resort was not overcrowded. The staff was excellent and could not do enough for us. No matter what our request, the answer was always "yes". Valet, check-in, bellman, pool staff, concierge, all restaurant employees and bartenders - excellent. We loved both pools. The spa was beautiful. Excellent massage and friendly employees. Our room was huge. Beautiful mountain view with sunset views of mountains. We will be back!

Great views and great golf

We stayed here in a one bedroom premium villa using our ownership. The villa was very spacious and was quite comfortable for our family of four. The bathroom was large with a big shower, double sinks, and whirlpool tub. We enjoyed the patio thta overlooks the pool area and courtyard. There was even a fireplace (gas) that added warmth and ambience. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the hot tubs were closed but the pools were open. The Westin resort is located right next to the villas and there is a 27 hole golf course adjacent. The mountain views are amazing and the golf course was immaculate. These Westin properties are within walking distance (10 min) of excellent shopping and restaurants. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.
