Both bedrooms are decorated with taste and have a desk, a flat smart TV and sofas or long chair to relax.
A large kitchen is fully equipped to cook elaborate meals. The breakfast nook/dining area for four is in a veranda that has access to a flourished courtyard on one side and an outdoor patio on the other side, with furniture (bistro table and chairs) and a BBQ for four.
This cottage is part of a property that includes another cottage, La Ménagerie (1), for six, and a large loft apartment (for two) in a recently renovated barn ("The Barn" at La Ménagerie), all around a lovely courtyard fully flourished with ancient varieties of local roses. These three units can be rented all together for large parties or separately. During the high season (in June, July, August and September,) when the pool and surrounding deck are in operation, in order to ensure privacy and exclusive access to our guests, only one unit is rented: the cottage ["La Ménagerie (1)"] that accommodate six guests with a possibility to include one or the two other units in their rental contracts, if needed, for larger parties, up to 12 guests maximum.
This property sits in a exceptionally quiet and relaxing environment, so enjoyable for nature lovers! Walk-out from the cottage and follow the 300 Km of secure and well signaled bike paths and hiking trails throughout the chateau country. In the midst of woods, fields and vineyards, it enjoys a very tranquil location where the nearest farm is half a mile away. Yet, the villages of Chitenay or Fougeres-sur Bievre are at biking distance (2 miles). The small town of Contres, with all services and facilities, including two supermarkets and a weekly street market, is only 10 min. away by car. The royal city of Blois is only 10 miles away. From Paris, it is a 2 hours and a half car ride under normal traffic conditions, and one hour and a half by train (Blois/Chambord-Paris Austerlitz railway stations).
Windows with stunning views on the surrounding fields, a veranda full of light and a South- West main exposure, this cottage enjoys lots of sunlight at day time and skies full of stars at night when it is cloudless.
