Simply superb
We stayed at Jim and June’s Mainstay property from 8/16-8/22/20. Jim met us upon arrival and showed us the amenities. The house was exactly what we wanted for our stay...clean, well stocked, beds for each in our family of 5 and more! We also loved the close proximity to town (two blocks from the downtown area), hot tub and firepit in the backyard. Everything from the amenities to the family dog (Cher) were amazing! Thanks again Jim and June!

Huge house and great location
We really enjoyed staying at June and Jim's home. There was ample space for my family to spread out and relax after hiking and swimming. The location is great - right on main street. We walked to many bars, restaurants and shops from the home. The backyard was great as it was fenced and had a hot tub! The location of Hill City was central to all the attractions - Rushmore, Custer State Park, etc. Thank you Jim and June for a great stay!

Great location and wonderful place to stay
While the is on Main Street, it was quiet and short walk away from the Restaurants and shops. The house had everything we needed. We used the grill, stove and microwave. The location is close to Mt Rushmore, crazy horse, Custer state park and rapid city. Jim was available to answer questions and Cher (their dog) was there to welcome us when we got back from day trips. The hot tub was also nice to use. An access to Mickelson trail is a couple blocks away. I’d recommend the property and would stay agaun when in the black hills.

Great stay
If you are planning to visit the Black Hills and intend to do day trips to the Central Hills, North, and South Hills then I consider this property and Hill City to be the best location to do that from. There is a lot of driving involved to visit all 3 regions and this is a great central location to reduce driving time. The house is literally walking distance to the Hill City downtown restaurants and shops which is a great bonus! The house was built in 1929 and has been very nicely updated. We felt lucky to find Main Stay. Thanks Jim for your desire for us to enjoy our stay. It was great!

5 Star Property
We booked based on the reviews & they were accurate. This house was just what we needed to combat the COVID situation with the privacy & spaciousness of a house versus a motel for our 4 nights. We ended up cooking each night because of the lines to the restaurants, but it was just perfect. We sipped out cocktails & ate in our private green space, using the private hot tub whenever we wanted. It was an ease to get to the grocery store and to take strolls downtown. I even enjoyed getting on the Mickelson Trail which was a 3 min walk away, by the 1880 train station. -trail super for bike riding or just walking. Also, a great base camp location being in the heart of the Black Hills attractions. Jim is the ultimate professional and made sure we had no questions regarding our stay. We were just a couple but so enjoyed having the space and comfort of this home for our visit.

Hill City
We enjoyed our stay in Hill City. The location was perfect for walking in town. The house was cozy and well stocked.
Awesome time in Hill City
My wife and I had an incredible experience at this VRBO. It was perfectly located centrally in the Black Hills and Jim was a wonderful host.

Great Place and Location
Nice place with everything you need. Close to all major attractions. Located in downtown Hill City. Single drawback and it’s a small detail: a better job of vacuuming would be beneficial
