Description
Looking to get away for the weekend or for a week? This 1800 sq. ft. cabin is nestled among tall Ponderosa Pines, some 100 years old! A taste of paradise is only about an hour and a half drive from Scottsdale.
The cabin is two stories, the main story being on the second
floor. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed
and the other with two twin beds. Upstairs there is also a
bathroom, family room that has a queen sofa bed and kitchen.
Downstairs there is another family room with another queen futon,
bathroom and laundry room. This is the perfect set up for two
couples or two families as it allows each some privacy. There are
two televisions and DVD players, one in the master bedroom and the
other in the downstairs family room. I have several movies you can borrow. WI-FI is also available.
The deck wraps around the entire second floor so you can
choose to sit in the sun or shade whichever you prefer. There is
a gas BBQ and a hammock you can use. The cabin has three
fireplaces; two wood and one gas. The wood ones are in the
upstairs family room and master bedroom and the gas one is in
the downstairs family room. There is a small fee for wood or you
can bring your own. Don't forget to bring marshmallows to roast!
The cabin sits on an acre and a half of land and backs the
National Forest. It is quite private and quiet. If you walk
into the forest about a quarter of a mile at dusk and you are
quiet and lucky, of course, you could see elk, particularly
in the summer and fall. I have seen up to 20 at a time! At the
very least, you are certain to hear bugling in the middle of the
night if you wake up.
I have a book there that gives you all kinds of ideas as to what
to do; hikes, fishing, swimming holes, restaurants, shops, etc.
Everything you need is there. All you need to bring is your
clothes and food.

Weekend Trip
We had an amazing time at the cabin. Feeding the elk and squirrels were the highlight, we had 6 elk just sit in the yard. Beautiful cabin, beautiful weather! Thanks for the fun!

Home like cabin
We loved staying at such a quaint cabin that felt like home. The wildlife was amazing and entertaining to watch and feed. Loved the location and access to trails. We can’t wait to plan our next trip.

Great property
Great cabin and property backup up against forest land. When we arrived there were several elk on the property and chipmunks playing the trees. A short walk out the back of the property and we found ourselves in a meadow and surrounded by elk. Bedrooms, kitchen, and living areas were complete and met our needs. Thank you!

Quiet, serene cabin in the woods
We had an amazing time at this vacation home. The owner, Rhonda, was super easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was clean, comfortable and fully stocked with all the comforts of home. The three fireplaces made for relaxing, peaceful evenings. The pictures truly do not depict how lovely this cabin and property are. We enjoyed the abundance of wildlife and took several hikes in the snow. We were thrilled to have a white Christmas at what my son called a "Winter Wonderland". Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay and can't wait to return in the Spring. Thank you Rhonda for sharing your home with us! Jason & Elizabeth Martinez

Perfect house & forest location
Stayed with my two young children and two dogs. The house has every modern day amenity (wifi, cable, surround sound, washer/dryer, full kitchen) as well as cozy and rustic decor throughout & 3 fireplaces to enjoy in the winter. Absolutely breathtaking wrap around porch sitting on quiet edge of national forest. We were able to walk out and explore the woods with our kids and dogs each day. Saw lots of wildlife (elk, birds, squirrels). House was extremely clean, warm, and inviting, the location cannot be beat! Rhonda was very easy to book with and had the house well prepared for our arrival. Five stars, we will be back.
