Lakefront vacation home in Gilbert with kitchen
Due to the setting it's best:
-for only 1 or 2 people-sorry NOT for visitors, unless discussed
-corporate stay in the Lexington area .
-Sorry, but there is NO PLACE to DOCK a BOAT or PARK A TRAILER.
- If you are renting a boat for a day, then check with the owners about a temporary dock
.-snowbirds in transit or scoping the area
This is a perfect place for a quiet get-a-away for 2 or wonderful alternative to a required hotel stay. The cottage was built totally by hand, by the owner, with trees cut from the property. It is designed for adults and there is nowhere for kids to play.
-No fire pit or place to burn
TWO KAYAKS are available to enjoy our large cove or to explore Shull Island.
Accommodations: Den and kitchen with island on one floor. Downstairs 600 sq. ft. with a queen bed and sitting area. Sleeps 2- one queen bed downstairs.
Three large windows overlooking the lake. We have all new appliances, including granite counter tops and 2 HD TVs with Dish Satellite.
There is a deck off the lower level for enjoying the lake view and for kayak or swimming access.
Off Season, 2 nights available if less than a month away from arrival.

If you stay a week and could leave the lake, it's two hours from Charleston, SC. Downtown Columbia is 35/40 minutes away and the zoo (30 minutes) State Museum and children's museum are well worth the visit. Restaurants and many shopping choices are in Lexington which is an 18 minute drive. Many restaurants and grocery stores are an easy 10/15 minute drive from the guest house. Most renters prefer to shop prior to arrival.

My wife and I wanted a relaxing vacation for our 10th anniversary. Ellen's cottage checked all the boxes! The property was so beautiful and peaceful! Ellen was an outstanding host. A Slice of Heaven
The home and owners couldn't have been better! Ellen and Andy are super sweet and attentive. The house is situated on a lovely tree lined cove surrounded by an exquisite garden and a view of the big water of Lake Murray. Peaceful Getaway

Easter Weekend Stay
This cottage is a gem! It is wonderful with a beautiful lake view. As pictured, and probably more room than shown. Very clean, comfortable bed, and Ellen has thought of your every need. Ellen and Andy are wonderful hosts, very easy to communicate and work with and very responsive. Can't say enough about this property, absolutely loved our stay!! I just wish the weather had been better to go kayaking - will have to come back for that. Only 1 hr from Augusta Natl.

Lovely workcation on the lake!
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay! The property was just as we expected, if not larger. Hosts were very welcoming! We look forward to returning for another visit in the summer or fall, hoping to be able to take advantage of the kayaks in warmer weather
