Description

If you're looking to get away from it all, secluded, rustic, calm and peaceful Cave Creek Cabin is the right vacation rental for you' it is Arkansas' best kept secret - an authentic 1840's hand-hewn log cabin in the Ozark mountains!

Ideal for family reunions and events, retreats, romantic weekends, honeymoons, elk and turkey hunts, float trips and hiking or mountain biking; this 2,600 square foot ridge-top cabin overlooks 125 acres of elk habitat. The acreage is a Certified Forest Stewardship property with 3/8 mile of year-round creek nestled in a valley setting below beautiful limestone cliffs. We're on Cave Creek and are surrounded by the Gene Rush Wildlife Management Area (no hunting on the cabin property,) and we are only five miles from the Carver Input on the Buffalo National River, known for excellent canoeing and float trips.

Mountain breezes, rushing creeks and great views abound here. Build memories that will last a lifetime around the massive fireplace and outdoor fire pit. Moved from Kentucky to this secluded spot, restored and modernized for vacation fun, the large, yet cozy cabin sleeps 17. We feature a full walkout basement, fully equipped kitchen, huge front porch and patio with picnic tables and porch swing. There are two bedrooms, a loft and a walkout basement "bunkhouse," a great hangout for the kids. For your comfort and convenience there are two baths; one has a tub/shower combination, the other a full walk-in shower.

When you are ready for some activity, there is a swimmin' hole, or fish the stream for small mouth bass and perch. Hiking, rock climbing, cave exploring, mountain biking, and magnificent star gazing are available right on the property. The bird and wildlife watching is great too! You may even see a bald eagle at the right time of year. Just look out the windows to watch deer graze by the barn almost every day. Grab your binoculars and take an early morning walk on the loop road around the cabin, returning to enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch.

The remote solitude here draws people to Cave Creek, but cell phone reception is good so you can stay in touch. If you can get them to come inside, or if a rainy day restricts outdoor fun, keep the kids happy in our "Kids Kave" for table games, foosball and Direct TV. Your smartphone's hotspot can get you online with the smart TVs. We have a variety of paperback books for those who like a good read. In cooler months, relax in front of the crackling fireplace or snooze in the lounger and slow down for a moment at Cave Creek Cabin.

You are minutes from Sam's Throne for a fine hike. Richland Creek, Hurricane River Cave and Mystic Caverns are not far away. Brochures and business cards at the cabin will put you in touch with opportunities for horseback riding, zip-lining and more! We're ideally situated near the middle river input at Carver (5 miles.) Outfitters for Buffalo River floats are at St. Joe (34 miles,) Jasper (24 miles) and Ponca (38 miles.) Floating is seasonal and rain dependent, but a short drive to reach your outfitter is a great way to experience the beauty of Newton County and enjoy some of the best vistas Arkansas has to offer.

WOW!

If you are looking for a quiet cabin in the woods, this is for you. The cabin was everything that was advertised in the pictures. It was clean and organized when we arrived. Tip: make sure you follow the directions to the cabin closely and remember to bring tick spray. There were no bugs around the cabin but if you venture down to the creek you will get ticks on you. Our time there was very peaceful and we will be back soon!

Solitude, beautiful area and relaxation what more could you want

The cabin was everything and more than I expected. It was super clean and well kept for being in the middle of a forest. Overall a very restful and peaceful stay. I highly recommend the cabin if you love peace and quiet. The kitchen has all the utensils we needed. Loved the solitude and our kids and dogs loved it as well.

good

very fun. water a little low but plenty to splash in. saw 12 deer and 4 spotted fawns. saw coyote pups. big thing was saw a black beer walking down the road, along by the barn and house. soooo cool !!!!!!!!!

Secluded and serine

If you want to be out in the middle of nowhere this is the place to escape. Beautiful log cabin and everything you need to enjoy nature.

Amazing and Authentic Log Cabin !!

Absolutely fantastic trip! The cabin is beautiful- like a step back in time but with all the amenities !! Huge stone Fireplace, Firepit and Washer/ Dryer- room for the troops! Perefect location- close to everything! Every detail in place!! We will be back! Thank you!

Awesome experience...!!!

Best Cabin experience ever. The place is extremely secluded at a remote location. It's not built to look like a cabin, it's an actual wooden cabin in the middle of nowhere. We spotted two bears on the way to the cabin and foxes almost every night around the cabin, can hear them almost all night long. Spotted elks on the near Ponco town. Lot of outdoor activities closeby. Lost valley trailhead, buffalo river rafting, Whitaker point trailhead are few activities we went for, very beautiful scenic spots. The roads are extremely scenic, except for the last 5 miles which is a dirt road into wilderness, Google was able to guide us through. Joan was very patient and helpful. Cabin was very clean and neat. Would definitely visit again and recommend to my friends.

Loved it!

Tranquil mountain cabin - property is clean and inviting. The best fun was swimming and wading at the creek!

Secluded Getaway

My daughters and I had a great time relaxing in the peace and quiet of the cabin. We drove down to the stream almost every day which was great. The road leading down there might be a little rough for most cars but you could walk it as well. Overall it’s a good place to get away from things and just enjoy some board/card games or some s’mores.

Very nice cabin! Enjoined our stay!

Cabin was clean and very comfortable. The A/C was very cold! Lots of wild life and beautiful scenery! Would recomened this place to all my friends and family.

Five stars for solitude alone!

The hardest part was getting to the cabin in our minivan- pretty uneven and confusing roads as you would expect for some place so secluded. But that was also part of the experience and it was something of an achievement when we got in:) After the kids explored the grounds and the game room and the adults took in the view from the kitchen, we settled in for the weekend. The highlight was the Buffalo river kayak trip (you put in from about an hours drive away) which was definitely beautiful and made our long drive worth it. There was ample space and a hose to set up a play pool for the kids by the cabin. There was enough cutlery and bedding. The only downside was that we set forth with the kids to the trek down to the river and that proved to be too challenging for our group and we had to turn back after a particularly precipitous section. There may be an alternate route but we did not bother to ask. Barring the spotty cellphone reception, Paula was very approachable and helped us with any questions. Maintaining such a secluded cabin cannot be without effort and I want to thank the managers and owner for renting out this little peice of heaven. I would again make the drive from Dallas just for the kayaking experience alone and I would not stay anywhere else.
