It is a wonderful experience to stay in our beautiful home in the mountains of Northern New Mexico surrounded by vast ranch lands. Viewing wildlife and observing nature is a favorite pastime for our guests and the wildlife is everywhere, from birds in the sky and in the water to many elk, deer and other mammals abound. The log home is modern and refined in its restoration although it is now 100 years old and is unique to our area in its style and comfort. MOST GUESTS DO HAVE CELL RECEPTION.

The space

This stunning home is over 90 years old but has been expertly restored and modernized while retaining its unique historic qualities. It is one of the gems of the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Northern New Mexico and was the original headquarters for, what was once, a huge ranch. Our guests have been coming back for this amazing mountain retreat for years. Our home is beautifully decorated. For the cold winter nights, we have a wonderful wood-burning stove and central heat to keep you cozy and warm with unlimited fire wood for your stay. Regularly, we have elk, eagles and other wildlife in the front yard and in the extensive 'vega' (irrigated mountain pastureland) fields next to the home. Our location is very private and it is a special experience to stay and relax with this unique property. The house sits on 7 very private acres and overlooks vast ranch lands of thousands of acres and hundreds of thousands of state land. We have over an acre of ponds on the property and the year-round Little Coyote Creek flows through our property. We are nine miles (on a very good and well maintained highway) from Angel Fire with golfing, fishing, skiing in season, hiking, mountain biking and many other outdoor activities. We are on the road where the last sled team delivered mail in the continental US. Come and enjoy an escape to the beautiful Sangre De Cristo Mountains and surround yourself in authentic mountain charm and elegance. MOST GUESTS, INCLUDING MYSELF, HAS GOOD CELL PHONE RECEPTION.

Guest access

Just near to our home is the Angel Fire resort and golf area. Skiing is just down the road about nine miles. There is hiking on hundreds of thousands of acres just a mile from the home.

Pets are allowed but there is an additional charge so if you are bringing a pet, let us know when you book and we will alter the charges. WE HAVE WIFI!

A beautiful large house with a great view. Many birds and one prairie dog (that I saw). I did not see any elk but I guess we can't all be that lucky.

Beautiful

Edward's place - and the surrounding area - is beautiful and met almost all our expectations. One note for potential guests: As of our stay in late November 2019, there was no cellular phone service at the property or in the immediately surrounding area. The landline requires a calling card for all numbers outside the 575 area code, and there was no webphone installed in the house. There is strong wifi but guests should be aware that you will not have cell service during your stay there. (This may be a plus for some!) That being said, we would definitely recommend Edward's place to others and we would love to stay there again. It was a great weekend!

It was a beautiful cabin set in an amazing setting. Loved how quiet it was. Edward was quick to respond to all question. Want to return for a longer stay.

The house has all of the amenities one could possibly need to stay comfortably. The wood burning fireplace was lovely and kept the house warm and toasty. We visited right after Christmas and we were a little shocked at the amount of snow (1.5-2 ft at least). Suggestion, don’t be like us and check the weather and your vehicle before you visit! The view is stunning, location within the valley is just amazing. The house feels so private and cozy. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend the house to anyone looking for a snowy NM getaway.
