Avalon is a unique 100-acre property located on Lake Hartwell at the base of the Smokey Mountains in Westminster, SC, directly off scenic highway 11, and a short drive to Clemson University. It is a place for friends and family, old and new, to gather in a natural setting to reunite, celebrate, create, play, relax and laugh. The property features a 6 foot waterfall you can sit in where the Little Choestoea creek runs the length of the property and meets Lake Hartwell. There is a large firepit, large outdoor kitchen for preparing your meals, open air gazebo overlooking the waterfall, a stage if you want to perform, a dock to park your boat (subject to water levels) giving access to the lake for boating, fishing, riding, etc. The dock is usable to about 655 msl. (Full pool is 660)
The property is great for a reunion for the Clemson football games. The University is less than 30 minutes away. Avalon provides a perfect space to return to and spend the rest of your time with family and friends.
The central gathering area, "Downtown", is where the magic happens: meals, conversation, music and laughter. Here you will find a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, picnic tables, fire pit, hot tub, as well as a stand-alone performance stage, gazebo, bar and bathhouse. It is just steps away from the lake and waterfall.
Kitchen - This 300 sf covered outdoor kitchen has everything needed to create and serve delicious food as the melody of the nearby waterfall inspires you. It is equipped with 3 refrigerators, one large 6 burner commercial stove, 2 ovens, griddle top, green egg, smoker, 2 gas grills, prep area, cooking & serving items and a stainless-steel restaurant style dish washing area.
Gazebo - Avalon's multiFUNctional gazebo with its unique architecture has wonderful views to the waterfall, kitchen, fire pit and main stage area. Picture quiet conversation, workshops, spontaneous acoustic jams or a late night dance party in this open and cozy space.
Bathhouse - The 300 sf bathhouse has 2 double shower areas, 2 toilets, 4 sinks, 100 gallon water heaters, mirrors and cubbies for storage. The waters is from a well with a 2,000 gal backup tank. Perched on top of the upper deck is a hot tub in the trees overlooking the waterfall.
Stage - Scores of great musicians have graced this downtown stage. Set into a natural amphitheater, the 20' x 24' stage can be used for yoga classes, dance parties and more. Let your imagination and Avalon's magical vibration co-create a downtown scene.
The base rate includes the above plus the Zen House (2 BR, 2 BA, sleeps 8 in beds) and the Love Shack (1 BR, 1 BA cabin, sleeps 4). The maximum number allowed to stay in the houses is 20. Bring your own tents, sleeping bags, cots, etc for the additional sleeping. Zen House has 1 BR with a Queen and the other BR with 1 queen bunk, 1 long twin bunk and the bath has a tub/shower combination.. It has a living room and kitchen, a deck, a porch and screened porch. The Love Shack has 2 double futons and an efficency kitchen. Base rate covers up to 20 people.
Additional overnight campers are $10/night/person. Campers have access to a bathhouse with 2 showers and 2 toilets. The big field has an open-air sink and shower area. Porta-johns can be brought in for larger groups.
The Westfall Cabin is available for an additional $250/night plus cleaning & taxes and can accommodate up to 8. It has 2 private BRs, each with a queen and a loft with a double and 2 twin beds. The cabin has 2 porchs to hangout on.
The property has a 2 night minimum.
