a fantastic vacation getaway

This was our first trip to Antigua but it definitely won't be our last. As a matter of fact we have already book a stay for next year. Our stay at Sunset Villa was perfect. It began with Trevor meeting us at the airport. As other guests have noted we can not say enough about Trevor. He was so pleasant and helpful. It's like having your own private concierge. The villa was perfect, lots of room, brand new kitchen, fabulous balconies. The views are breathtaking. Each night we watched the sunset while having dinne r on the lower balcony. The beach is just a short walk away and as for the hill not bad at all. We didn't do a lot of exploring while we were there because we were so content to just stay local. We did have lunch at Anas on the beach and it was 5 star all the way. Plan to see more of the island on our return visit. My brother and his wife flew in for a few days and fell in love with the villa and the location. They are planning on coming back again. This is the perfect vacation spot for all those who want the beauty of the island without all the congestion of resort hotels.

Beautiful Villa, great location

Even though our stay was shortened due to Delta flight issues, the villa was fantastic! We are definitely going to stay there again. Carol was fantastic and communicated with us through out the time. Trevor met us at the airport, took us to the villa, made sure everything was in working order, and even helped us find where my brother and his family were staying by taking us there! This place is a gem and everything mentioned in the reviews were true! Thank you Carol and Trevor for a wonderful experience!

Paradise Found

My trip to Sunset Villas was my 50th bday gift, and let me say it did not disappoint! Our trip started with our arrival at the airport where we were met by the property manager Trevor. Trevor is a humble, kind good hearted man that takes pride in his country as well as the property he manages. Anything we asked for Trevor got for us or knew someone that could get it. Trevor made our trip so enjoyable because we knew we had someone we could depend on. Upon arrival at the villa Trevor gave us a proper tour and showed us all the essentials. The villa is located on a hill in the Dickenson Bay Area. There are many favorable amenities about the home, but the true selling point for us was the view. I have been to many islands and have stayed in many homes, but in all my 50 years I have NEVER seen a more breathtaking view than this one. Words and pictures can’t even begin to describe the view. You get to see the whole island surrounded by the ocean and mountains. The view is so romantic and serene. The villa has a rooftop with chairs, where you can go and sunbathe or just sit and watch the most incredible sunset views imaginable! The villa is surrounded by many popular eateries and local bars/hangout. We rented a car to explore the island, but keep in mind Antiguans steering wheel is on the right and they drive on the left. The driving experience can be tricky if you’re a timid driver. The island is small so having a car helps you see most of the island in a short period. If you decide to rent a car Trevor has a connect with one of the local car rental guys, Ian! They brought the car to us and picked it up, we didn’t have to move from the villa. They treated us so good. My only disappointment was that we went during lobster mating season, so I couldn’t get a lobster anywhere on the island. We made up for the lack of lobster with our fish intake. We had a killer red snapper at a fusion restaurant TouLouLou’s. The food was so fresh and amazing full of flavor. Our second favorite spot was Oj’s. located on the other side of the island. You will definitely need a car to visit. But the food was amazing only topped by the views. Third but not least for amazing food is Papa Zouks! Food and drinks were only superseded by the owner coming to greet each patron! I miss Antigua already, but I take solace in the fact that I will be back and I know I’ll feel at home in paradise!

Barbara Walker - Accommodations at Dickenson Bay

Overall, the location, space and view was everything I wanted - even the distance to the beach, with the exception of the walk back up the hill. Trevor was very accommodating throughout our stay. The one thing that was a bit inconvenient was walking through the second bedroom to get to the living room. Fortunately, we were a family, so it was ok. I felt very comfortable there and would return.

Exceptional Location and Villa.

High above Dickenson Bay and Sandals, and with a view down much of the west side of the island, the villa is perfectly located for beach, bars and restaurants and - if you really must go - St John’s. Everything in the villa was as described with the exception of wifi which was spotty but perhaps that was due to Dorian. Booking was easy and Trevor, the property manager was first class. Though we didn’t need much from him his immediate and kind responses, when required, showed knowledge of the island, activities, and places to go. We travel frequently often staying in HomeAway properties. Though always content previously, this is the first time We have found a review necessary. Overall Great Experience

Will keep this short and simple - both Carol and Trevor were great to deal with - very responsive, accommodating, and helpful with anything our wedding guests needed during their stay. They even went out of their way to put together a welcome package of drinks and snacks for everyone upon arrival - something greatly appreciated. Outside of the wi-fi being a bit spotty at times, everyone was extremely happy with their accommodations (cleanliness, condition, proximity to the beach/Sandals, etc.) We appreciate everything and would definitely recommend for anyone staying at Dickenson Bay.

Beautiful views

Very great experience with this property! Smooth processes and very assistive in any queries we had. The villa is excellent for families, with lots of space for everyone. Food, beaches and also a grocery store are a few short minutes away. As an added perk the home offers a beautiful panoramic view of the hills and beaches.

Pretty dope

Loved the experience and the communication with the owner was great. St. John’s shopping area is a little ways away but the property puts you right by sandals resort and by the beach.
