Amazing Classic Capitol Hill Home! 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house on a quiet street.
Tons of old world charm in this well maintained 110-year old home including original fixtures, hardwood floors, wood trim, coved ceilings and leaded glass windows. All systems are upgraded including a forced air gas furnace and an “endless” hot-water boiler so your group won’t run out of hot water while taking showers in the morning.
A great location: Our home is located two blocks east of Volunteer Park, a beautiful Olmstead Legacy Park. We are located just two miles northeast of downtown Seattle and two miles south of the University of Washington within easy bus service.
This home is our primary residence but we spend enough time in Japan and elsewhere that we now consider it our “home while we are in Seattle” and make it available on while we are not in town. We also rent our Whistler Canada condo on platform
If you're looking for a modern, updated place to stay.... this might not be the perfect match for you. BUT if you're looking for a charming home with tons of character, that feels like a home away from home... then this is perfect!
We really enjoyed our stay! The beds and bedding were THE most comfortable ever. The towels were also soft and amazing. It's the little things that add up to the perfect stay! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment as well as basics, like oils and seasonings.
Gary, the owner, was easy to get ahold of despite being over seas, and he was prompt in dealing with the 2 small issues we had (getting the heater turned on and lack of hot water).
One of my favorite things about this property was it's location. I LOVED being able to walk to the grocery store every day to get things for breakfast. And we walked to a different restaurant every night! There are so many close by. We also walked to Volunteer Park. Attractions like Pike Market, the aquarium, and the zoo were a short drive away.
If I had anything small to suggest to change, it would be black out curtains in all the bedrooms! Us East Coasters were not used to that 5am sunny wake up.
Thanks for hosting us in your wonderful home!
