Perfect for large families!
Our stay was 8/6-8/13/2016. There were 8 adults and 7 children from 6 to 12 and we were never crowded or under foot. The property is divided into a large (Bear) cabin and a smaller (little bear) cabin, they were decorated adorably . Our family get along and we were all looking forward to this time to visit , relax, and have some adventures. The location is beautiful and the proximity to the water was great. Can't say enough about the clear lake water and mountain views. Best sunsets were down at the beach. The house s were well set up with everything you need , linens( of course) you bring yourself. There is a small store (JoJos) a short trip away so what you forget you can find. 20-25 min away is a large grocery for major supplies. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms spotless and you will get the hang of the water temperature adjustments in the showers. We are grilling folks and thankfully our sons brought theirs because one gas grill just won't feed our 15. We ate all meals outside except breakfast as this is a treat. The smell of the pines is heavenly and 2 very long picnic tables accommodated our crew with comfort. We ended our evening with a gathering around the fire pit. Highly recommend this experience to all. Madelyn Mitton was a dream to talk to and was very accessible for any questions. WiFi on the property worked well. Thanks again Mr and Mrs Mitton.

Gorgeous home - couldn't have asked for more!
What a wonderful and beautiful house with wood floors and ceilings. It was a pleasure to walk into such an immaculate home. The smaller house was a sweet space that was especially nice for one son & wife with a new baby. We all came together for meals and the kitchen was very comfortable for cooperative cooking. The living room was roomy with a large tv and we all enjoyed the two decks. The lower level was great for the grandchildren who loved the air hockey table and could be noisy without disturbing the whole family! They also had fun at the horseshoe pit. The beach was a very short walk.away, and we were fortunate to have lovely weather to enjoy it. This is a great place for a large family or a group. We couldn’t ask for more.

Huge, comfortable, wooded retreat close to lake
The Mitton's Big Bear and Little Bear houses were a perfect site for our family reunion week at the lake. It has multiple living areas that allowed 11 of us to have space but also come together for games and meals. The yard is huge, equipped with horseshoes, picnic tables, fire pit, basketball hoop, and swings. Two decks give views of both the lake (partial) and piney woods (the trees smell wonderful!). Lots of small touches add up to huge convenience, like two kitchens, three fridges, heavy duty washer and dryer, three huge TV's for rainy days, quick walk to a lovely, small beach, and dumpsters right in the back yard (it was so wonderful not to have to take a trip to a town dump before check-out). Bedrooms are a good size with comfortable mattresses, and the gas barbecue was large enough to accommodate meat and veggies for all of us at the same time. The Mittons were a pleasure to work with; for example, we had a clogged sink on arrival, and Steve was there in half an hour to fix it. This house is an excellent place to stay and a great value; the only caveat we have for travelers is that if you are very sensitive to heat, bring small AC's for bedrooms if you can because, like most lake houses, there is no AC (there is usually no need for it, but we had the bad luck to be there during an unseasonably hot week). Finally, the house is in a great location - away from the hustle and bustle of towns like Weirs Beach, Wolfboro, and Meredith, but close enough for easy drives to all three and more (be sure to visit nearby Castle in the Clouds). We had a wonderful time!

Cozy New Hampshire home by the Lake
A Beautiful House plus an apartment over the garage to accommodate our big family. The beautiful pine wood throughout the house gave us that cozy New Hampshire feeling. The beds were very comfortable with ceiling fans in every room. The kids enjoyed the game table, swings, basketball, and toasting marshmallows by the large fire pit surrounded by three picnic tables and plenty of chairs. Perfect area with a short walk across the street to a beautiful Lake for swimming and a picnic. It was a great area to several attractions such as Weirs Beach, Monkey Trunks, Gunstock Mountain, Go Karts, Castle in the Clouds. We also took a scenic ride to North Conway Area to enjoy more of New Hampshire such as Cathedral Ledge, Diana's Bath and on to Story Land. Being a very hot week, the owners were especially nice to show up with an air conditioner and another fan to accommodate us. It was greatly appreciated.

Had everything we needed
We all (14 of us) enjoyed the house and the location very much. The house accommodated us all very well. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. The kids and adults enjoyed the recreation area in the lower level and all the outside activities too. It was a short walk to the beach and the lake was clear and clean. Thanks for making our time together extra special
Great place for a family vacation!
Our extended family had so much fun last year we just booked another week for this summer's vacation. The house was the perfect size for us. The beach is literally just a 2 minute walk, or you can drive if you have beach chairs and food to bring. The kids loved the big yard to play in and the large room downstairs to watch movies and play games. There were plenty of bedrooms to accommodate each family and their kids. My parents loved that we were all able to stay in one place and that there was plenty of room for all of us to hang out when it rained. The owners are nice folks and have kept this home in excellent condition.

Wedding Weekend in Oct
What a wonderful long weekend we had for our daughter's wedding at Castle in the Clouds. We had four generations staying at the houses and it was perfect. Plenty of room for each generation to have some space along with large common areas for enjoying each other. The ages were from 4 months to 80 years old. The kitchen is incredibly stocked with pots, pans etc. It made feeding everyone very easy. All the girls gathered at the house before the wedding and the pictures are beautiful. A minor issue came up and was addressed by the owners immediately. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The house helped round out the perfect wedding.

Family get together
Wonderful property for our family get together. Our grandchildren (ages 1-6) loved the shallow sandy beach with crystal clear water. Property was very close to beach and boat launch. Location was ideal. Spacious yard for kids to run around. Used fire pit at night.
