Welcome to our home, Villa Grand Piton, an enchanting oasis of tranquility! Perched high on the ridge of a hill overlooking the Pitons and the Caribbean, we enjoy a quiet spot away from the traffic on the Anse Chastanet road. But we’re only a short drive from all the great activities that the southern part of St Lucia has to offer (watch our video - third picture - to get a sampling of all you can do during a vacation at Villa Grand Piton).
No matter whether your ideal vacation is relaxing and rejuvenating your soul or ranges as high and deep as climbing mountains and SCUBA diving, you can have it here with us at Villa Grand Piton. Is your ideal vacation all about serenity and relaxation?
Then start your day in the gazebo, watching the sailboats glide along the sea under a rainbow, while sipping a cup of smooth local coffee or cappuccino. After a breakfast of local fruit and homemade waffles, slide into the pool and float, warmed by the Caribbean sun, surrounded by cashew trees and brilliant bougainvillea, with the postcard-perfect panorama of the Pitons and the Caribbean stretching across the horizon.
Doxie's home-made pumpkin soup makes a delicious light lunch, then grab our snorkel gear and head to Anse Chastanet beach (a 6-minute drive away) for an afternoon snorkel. A cocktail of local spiced rum and ginger ale, then grilled freshly caught fish marinated in local seasonings with a salad, rice and chocolate cake (from local cocoa, of course) make an excellent finish to the afternoon and start to your evening while you watch the sun set over the Caribbean in streaks of brilliant pink and orange.
As the sky deepens to a deep purple velvet and the stars emerge, take the speakers outside and have Alexa play your favorite relaxing music, while you talk with your friends/family, or just sit quietly in awe of the beauty. Look up to see the inky black sky (no light pollution!) with the Milky Way, flowing across it, and watch for shooting stars. Sink into our comfortable Simmons BeautyRest mattresses and sleep deeply in the quiet, with just the breeze rustling the leaves and the singing of the tree frogs as a lullaby.
Or perhaps your ideal vacation is full of adventure and getting to see and do everything?
Get up as the first fingers of dawn creep down from the mountains to the east, grab some snacks and fill up our thermoses with ice water - you're headed to climb a mountain today. Get a guide at the Anse L'ivrogne beach if you want the nearly 2600-foot hike/climb or make it a little easier by starting from Fond Gens Libre, about a quarter of the way up. It takes a couple of hours, but it's worth it - the view goes on forever from the top!
After you get back down, head to the hot springs to ease your aching muscles. Come back to the villa for a fortifying lunch of Doxie’s chicken roti, then head to Choisel for an ATV ride through the rainforest. Explore the plantation and Devil’s bridge and chase each other along some black sand beaches. Stop and swim and have refreshments, then head back to the villa and relax around the pool after you’ve been exploring all day.
The next day, continue your adventures by heading to the foot of the tallest peak on the island, Mt Gimie. Hike Enbas Saut Trail, and descend 600 steps to the waterfall (then back up!). Or if SCUBA is your passion, dive at "Superman's Flight" at the base of the Piton instead. Take it a bit easier in the afternoon and tour the drive-in volcano and the black mud baths, then hop on a catamaran for a sunset sail before returning to the villa to eat a meal of chicken creole that Doxie has prepared for you.

Additional important information about Villa Grand Piton:
The villa is not available for rent without the staff.
The villa is built in the open-architecture style of most Caribbean residences which emphasizes harmony with the outdoors. Windows are not covered by glass and the buildings often have other openings to allow free airflow, also allowing insects and geckos into these houses. To help manage this, our windows are covered by screens, beds all have mosquito nets, and we treat outdoors on a regular basis.
Given the open nature of the house, including interior walls that do not go to the ceiling, the air conditioning in the bedrooms will not be able to cool the rooms. They blow cool air on the beds to make sleeping a little more comfortable.

So wonderful
The villa is outstanding! The staff is outstanding! The drivers are outstanding! The breeze, the view.......outstanding! The owners information and communication is outstanding! I really can't provide a better review than the reviews previously listed. We are a family of 5. We have 3 kids, ages 15, 13 and 10. Junior, Billy, Doxie and Kerryus are exceptional. We had a wonderful time and would love to go back to Soufriere and Villa Grand Piton. We lived in China for 4 years and did a lot of travel. We all voted this Villa, staff and St. Lucia at the very top. Junior checked in with us each morning to arrange a plan. We really enjoyed everything he suggested. He also arranged a boat day with Mario with Sugar Beach Charters that was outstanding! He and Billy were excellent drivers. Doxie is a wonderful cook! The Roti and punch on arrival was outstanding as well as the 2 other meals she cooked. Kerryus showed my daughter and I around the outside of the property- cashew trees, mango, coffee..... We enjoyed that a lot while others were napping! John was there to help us if needed. We were so relaxed and in awe of the beauty. It was a fantastic vacation! The owners do a fantastic job with information and communication!

Paradise
Our trip to St. Lucia came about after other plans back in the states fell through, and Villa Grand Piton cemented our desire to travel to the island after reading about the Villa, its reviews, and looking at the photos time and again. We cannot say enough about this place, the environment we called home for a week, and the staff. Doxie’s meals were incredible, Junior and Billy entertained and advised us about excursions while driving us around the island, and Kerryus picked cashews off the tree and roasted them for us! Amazing. The peacefulness of Villa Grand Piton is beyond words. The wildlife sounds will melt away any tension that you might bring with you, and the birds will literally eat out of your hands. St. Lucia should be a vacation destination for those who wish to get away, and Villa Grand Piton is the benchmark for a perfect vacation. Great Villa, wonderful people, and should you elect to dine out a couple nights as we did, two amazing restaurants nearby in Boucan and Dasheene. Just go there and be amazed.
