Kingfisher: A place to 'LIve, Love, Laugh': Owner Will King (founder of British men's shaving brand King of Shaves) was introduced to Grenada in 1992. In 1996, he discovered an acre and a half of prime beach front land was available, and with his then wife, bought the land. In 1999, Kingfisher was built (originally called Secret Cove, due to the proximity of Secret Harbour hotel, sadly now closed destined to be the site of Four Seasons Private Residences). King, a keen yachtsman and windsurfer fell in love with the location, due to its constant cooling breeze (ensuring mosquitoes were a rarity) and the fact he could enjoy fantastic windsurfing in Mt. Hartman bay. Between May 1999-Sept 2002 he kept his 45' yacht, 'Face to Ace IV' there and competed in Grenada Sailing Week, (winning his class in 2000). Originally wooded, the land was cleared and landscaped with mango, lemon & lime and a Flamboyant tree, and re-planted at the front with coconut palms. In 2004 a Balinese style gazebo was completed, along with a boat house.
Why stay at Kingfisher?: Kingfisher overlooks the ocean at the end of a quiet lane, Turtle Back Drive in exclusive L'Anse Aux Epines, the most sought after part of Grenada, within easy reach of every amenity, and the picturesque capital, St. Georges. Kingfisher is one of only a small handful of villas to have use of a safe, secluded white sand beach, the area being quite hilly. The proximity of the beach, nicknamed 'Secret Cove' should not be understated - the kids love it (it is super safe), but adults can enjoy watersports in safety - whether learning, or if advanced, can proceed out between the reefs that shelter the bay. NB. The villa is named Kingfisher as Will's son Cameron's middle name is Halcyon (Greek for Kingfisher) which refers to a bird fabled to breed about the time of the winter solstice in a nest floating on the sea and to charm the wind and waves so that the sea was then specially calm, hence the saying halcyon days!

Escape to a Caribbean island paradise in style
A beautifully located and well appointed villa. Forget the world and relax. Very peaceful and secluded. A real pleasure to spend time there, whether by the pool, or in the garden pagoda. Perfect views and an easy breeze off the ocean. Well located in a residential area but close enough to reach most destinations within 10 mins drive. A great escape.

Hidden Gem in Lance Aux Epines
I had the pleasure of staying at this property from Aug 3-17. The property was beautiful and the place looks exactly like the pictures. My A/C stopped working the first night and Fiona (The Property Manager) communicated with me everyday until it was fixed. Special thanks to her for being so attentive and welcoming. Also, I would like to thank Tessa (Housekeeper) and Deslyn (Fiona's Assistant) for their assistance. I highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Grenada. Thank you Will for sharing your beautiful house with me! It was definitely a trip to remember. All the best!
