Killer Views

We loved our stay in Calibishie! It was such an awesome little town. The house had the most incredible views from both big porches and both bedrooms. The rooms were very comfortable. The drive to the house is such a pretty, flowering tree lined street and the neighbors were very nice. The house felt private though it is in a neighborhood and a huge beach was right down a wooded path - lots of steps for a day after our Boiling Lake hike but it was a very big and rustic beach with lots of interesting rocks and plants and a great way to spend our last day in Dominica. I can't say enough good things about Calibishie - it is such a cute town with so many wonderful and friendly people. Our one compliant about the house was that there were no shades on the window in the upstairs bathroom so if you are taking a shower at night it felt like anyone on the road could see right in. Again, it is a private and quaint neighborhood so there was most likely no one out there but it felt a little odd. One of the restrooms were out of order when we were there but there were only 3 of us so two bathrooms was still plenty. We would also recommend a better solution for trash; it isn't ideal to have to drive your trash to the dump on vacation. Don't leave without having a lobster salad at Escape Beach Bar (near Pointe Baptiste and the awesome red rocks). Also, check out the Pointe Baptiste rocks at sunset and talk to Nigel about his Dominica recommendations! He was right on the money and is also a guide. The caretaker Conway checked on us daily and brought us some incredible bananas from his garden. We would 100% stay in this house again for the views alone! We could see the roof of our house from other parts of the island and it always solidified that the location can't be beat! Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us for the week!

You can't beat The View

Excellent place. Very nice place to stay with a family.

Amazing view, private location

Of all the houses I looked at online in Dominica, this had the best view! We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the bay. At times it did get windy, but not too often (and we were in hurricane season). Conroy, the house manager, was very responsive and accomodating.
