Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!
Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.

Quaint cottage, hidden in lush gardens
Like old Florida as I have been told is was. Family owned cottages, home away from home. All we needed for our girls trip who like to spend most of our time on the beach. Loved the outdoor areas with all the lush gardens. Clean and very personable areas. Loved that we could hang the chain on the gate as you walked in that said 'private property '.?????

Peaceful stay
We really enjoyed Myrtle and her place. Perfect spot near places to shop and eat along with being on the beach as a HUGE bonus. It was a perfect family cottage for our small family of three!

Relaxing Beach Weekend
My husband and I had a very relaxing and cozy stay. Myrtle is a kind hostess and clearly cares about her guests comfort. The gardens are lovely and the property just feels charming and well loved. The property is on the beach and the parking is easy. Our cottage was cozy and clean with comfortable furnishings and nice linens. She also provides beach towels and chairs! Restaurants and drug stores right across street .

Paradise Found
I must start with saying WOW. This was a home away from home as we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. My husband and I enjoyed every second. It is located directly on the Gulf, only steps to the beautiful white sand and blue-green waters. The garden cottage was fully equipped, as I’m sure the other 3 cottages available are as well! There would be no need to leave the beautiful property that has been in Ms. Myrtle Hall’s family since the 1940’s. If you are not one to cook while on a break, then within very reasonable walking distance there are various food establishments. One of the best we partook of was the “Original Crabby Bills,” enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner there at different times of our stay. There is excellent pizza, Slyce, across the street, also. CVS is across the street for whatever needs you may have too. My husband and I recommend one brings a small fan and a relaxing attitude. Ms. Myrtle provides beach chairs, umbrellas, sand gadgets, and has a laundry facility on premise. She lives on property and maintains the grounds wonderfully! She is readily available for questions or concerns, if they should arise. As of note, there were no issues during our 5-day stay. There were only great memories to be made. Ms. Myrtle truly has a gem...a paradise...awaiting for anyone to discover. We had a remarkable time in the Indian Rocks Beach area, thanks to this little piece of heaven that Ms. Myrtle is so willing to share with others!

Wonderful rental!
This is a wonderful place to stay just steps from the beach. The cottage is very comfortable, and we were able to unpack our bags and feel right at home during our stay. Everything you could need for the beach is available, chairs, umbrellas, toys, towels, etc. The owner has a washer and dryer that can be used for a minimal cost. This was such a nice bonus to have available. The area is very lively with several restaurants and shops within walking distance, and though you could hear music playing outside from a couple of the restaurants, it was quiet inside the cottage. The beach was not crowded during our stay, and it was quite enjoyable to spend our afternoons and evenings there. The view from the property at sunset is just beautiful as is the property itself. We also visited several of the nearby towns and museums that were only a short drive away. This is an ideal location, and you won't be disappointed if you stay at Sandy Shores.
