has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!
Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.
Surf, sand and sun, coupled with quiet solitude, magnificent sunsets, and the shade of the Australian Pines make this the perfect getaway spot. You will enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - perfect for a morning stroll or an afternoon shelling expedition, as well as beautiful-maintained accommodations. Sandy Shores is a slice of Old Florida at it's very finest.

The property is great and just what I needed. And Myrtle is awesome!
I was looking for a peaceful place on the beach and that is exactly what I found in the Gulf cottage. My stay was for a week and it was wonderful! I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended for an additional five nights (and moved to Cottage #2) which is also very nice and comfortable. I highly recommend this property. Peaceful, Beautiful Get-Away
We stayed ten nights at Sandy Shores in Indian Rocks Beach. We enjoyed thoroughly each day of our stay. The accommodations were clean and well appointed. Our view to the Gulf was clear and our walk to the beach was measured in seconds. Our unit had all the cooking materials we needed. Beds and furniture were comfortable. Common areas were pleasant and quiet. The location is close to everything IRB. Myrtle is a wonderful host ... she introduced us to the cottage, showed us around the grounds, and made us feel at home. We highly recommend both Myrtle and her property.

Best vacation in memory!!
My wife and I spent June 7th through 13th at this perfectly enchanting, conveniently located property on Indian Rocks Beach. Beautifully landscape gardens surround the 3 very cozy cottages. We were in the Gulf Cottage with windows looking out over a large common area, shaded by huge Australian pine trees and facing the Dunes and Beach just steps away! Myrtle is a wonderful host and has created a magical tropical paradise where you can easily forget your worries if only for a few days. Be sure to experience the lighted garden areas at night too!! In the front of the property you have many excellent restaurants, bars and shops and in the back you have the Gulf and those beautiful Indian Rocks Beach Sunsets!!!! We are already planning a return trip later this year.

Great beach house with lots to offer!
Stayed 6 nights with our 2 kids and it was amazing! Literately on the beach! Walking distance from many great restaurants and even a CVS. Was very clean and had everything we needed for our week stay. Just needed some groceries and we were good to go. Would defiantly go back, if you are looking and want something that feels like home and is on the beach this is a MUST!!!!

Perfection!!
The cottage is clean, bright, and very comfortable. The garden and sitting areas are beachside perfection, quiet and private. Myrtle is a fantastic Hostess! And there are fantastic restaurants in the neighborhood. Can’t wait to go back!!

Heaven on earth!
We don't want others to know about this gem for fear it'll be booked when we want to go back! The location in Indian Rocks is fantastic. The Gulf cottage was freshly painted and super clean! Everything you need or could even think of was there! The bed was super comfortable. Morning coffee and evening drinks overlooking the Gulf were peaceful and relaxing. Myrtle's hospitality was second to none.

Wonderful stay on Indian rocks beach. Beautiful beach, quiet, very clean, beautiful gardens!
