Our best family vacation...loved everything about this place!
We had the family vacation of a lifetime at Peter & Lucy’s Loon Landing Cabin. There was a total of 6-adults, 1-kid and 1-black labrador retriever on our trip and the cabin was a perfect fit for us. First of all, the pictures in the listing did not do the cabin justice. It was absolutely beautiful in person and much larger than we expected. The master bedroom was very large and comfortable. The other beds in the cabin and boathouse we great and had nice linens and quilts. There was more than enough bath and beach towels provided in the closets.
The view from the living room picture window overlooking Indian Lake was breathtaking. Every bit of the cabin just exceeded our expectations. The location was a perfect getaway from city life and provided a private sanctuary for our family vacation.
We brought our 19’ fishing boat which fit perfectly in the boathouse. The lake was great for tubing and water skiing. We also did pretty well fishing during our stay catching bass and sunfish from the shore and pickerel off our boat on the lake. The lake is pretty shallow around the edges, but it was crystal clear with sandy bottom. We launched the boat from Mountain View Lake (very easy) connected to Indian Lake. We enjoyed swimming and wading in the water in the extensive shoreline this cabin has. Our dog (black lab) certainly had the time of his life running in the water and swimming along the shore all day.
The cabin and boathouse both had awesome decks that we hung out on to enjoy the lake views. There was a paddleboat, canoe and kayak that were provided and were awesome to use on the lake. My 12-yr old niece really liked peddling and steering the paddle boat on the lake.
The lake was very quiet with very little boat and PWC traffic which was nice. I honestly just can’t say enough good things about the cabin and the scenery of the area. Malone is the nearest big city to the cabin and close enough to run to get anything you might need from the grocery store or Walmart…very convenient.
Peter and Lucy were great hosts. Peter checked in with us and gave us the history of the cabin and offered suggestions of things to do in the area. We were very sad to leave after our week stay at the Loon Landing Cabin. We would definitely stay here again!
The cabin was wonderful and we were right on a quiet lake. The owners were so kind and helpful. They shared the history of the area and the local highlights. We swam hiked relaxed and soaked up the sun. Such a great place to recharge. We are so grateful we stumbled upon this rental
