North Conway our get away in the mountains Location: North Conway, White Mountains, New Hampshire, USA (Walk, Bike, or Ski Through the Woods To Echo Lake State Park)
Accommodations: House -3 Bedrooms - 2 Bath - (Sleeps up to 5)
Knowing how much we love nature, I thought the decision to have a vacation get-away was going to be easy, but I was wrong. Little did I know that we had to see 100,000 houses and it was going to take a million years to find the “the right place”. Being a real estate broker for 20 years, (my husband) you can only imagine how picky he was when it came to purchasing our vacation get away. Me, I just wanted a small, very secluded home in the mountains, a place I could just go to enjoy a simple walk, read a book, have a bon fire with the family and go for a run to a close by river or lake and jump for a swim. A place for the entire family or a place just for me when I’m ready for a break. By the way………we can all use a small break!
When we first walked into what was to become our new get-away in North Conway, New Hampshire, the amazing beautiful views of mount Moat literally took our breath away! We realized that right from our back yard there was a beautiful trail, where we could walk, bike, run, snow shoe, or cross country ski through a beautiful mature forest along Elm Brook to the beach and picnic area at Echo Lake and Echo Lake State Park. At that very moment, we knew that the home we were about to see inside was already ours.
So, we invite you to come and check it out, we can assure you that if you are on your honeymoon, wish to recapture the romance in your relationship, have a date or just want to experience the awesome beauty and serenity of this 'get away in the mountains' by yourself, with your family, or friends, this is the ideal home for you when vacationing in the amazing North Conway, New Hampshire.
Imagine yourself walking, running, biking or ski to Echo Lake State Park and the trail network around Cathedral Ledge and White Horse Ledge without ever getting in your car. Return to a tranquil and comfortable vacation retreat, a full well equipped kitchen, a very nice and comfortable new furniture, outdoor fire pit, charcoal grill, and indoor masonry wood fireplace.
This home is located at the end of a very private street, in an extremely peaceful setting, but yet only minutes away from all the goodies that North Conway and Mount Washington Valley has to offer. All the furniture in the home including the beds ARE NEW! Views of the Moat Mountain range in full splendor from your living room, and dining room. Cozy up to the fireplace after cooking a scrumptious meal or go out in the backyard and make a bon fire or go out and enjoy dinner in one of many wonderful restaurants in the area.
Walk out your back door through a mature forest along the Elm Brook Trail for 10 minutes to the beach on Echo Lake, or take a run (.8 miles to Echo Lake, plus 1.2 miles if you run around the lake)
For downhill ski lovers there are Bretton Woods, Cranmore, Attitash, Black mountain, Shawnee Peak and Wildcat within 10 to 20 minutes away (driving). Snow-shoeing, lots of cross-country trails, snowmobiling, ice skating, sleigh rides, ice climbing, snowboarding, sledding, and tubing. Storyland it's just minutes away. Kancamangus scenic highway will take your breath away and it's just minutes away from the house. There is just soooo much to experience when you come to this amazing place.
A short 5-minute drive to North Conway Village, where there are the tax free shopping outlets, seasonal events every weekend, restaurants, entertainment of all sorts including live music and a playhouse, there is also a live theater.
Nearby there are four seasons of recreational activities like horseback riding, mountain climbing, rock climbing on White Horse Ledge, mountain biking along the extensive trail network behind the house, kayak and canoe along the Saco River, cross country or downhill skiing and snow boarding, snowmobiling, skating parks. We will just leave it up to you.... so much to do, or simply do nothing and enjoy the tranquility of mother nature.
DIANA'S BATHS
. 5 mile from the turnoff to Cathedral Ledge on West Side Rd., Bartlett. 200 yards of granite terraces. An easy .5-mile walk in takes you to cascading falls, waterspouts and granite basins along Lucy Brook.
JACKSON FALLS
Beside Carter Notch Road, off Rt. 16A near the center of Jackson Village. Very accessible, these roadside falls are popular for swimming, picnics, sunbathing - even weddings. The falls are created by the rushing waters of the Wildcat River, the first federally designated 'Wild and Scenic River' in New Hampshire.
LOWER FALLS, ROCKY GORGE & SABBADAY FALLS
On the Kancamagus Highway. Lower Falls is 7 miles west of Conway, while Rocky Gorge is 2 miles further on and requires a .1 mile Con way walk in. Lower Falls is right on the Kancamagus, and is a busy spot on hot summer days. It has pools, small sandy beaches, picnic tables, parking and changing rooms. Rocky gorge has picnic tables, drinking water and parking; swimming prohibited in the Gorge, but
you can take a dip in the pools above the falls. Sabbaday Falls is located 3.5 miles west of where Bear Notch Road joins the Kancamagus. You can't swim here, but the 25 ft. falls' beauty is well worth the easy .3 mile hike in.

Beautiful Home in Quiet Area
Absolutely loved our time spent here! This home was perfect for our weekend get away! The beds were comfortable, the home was immaculately clean and didn't feel like just a vacation rental. It truly felt like a home. After spending a day at Diana's Baths, coming back here to grill and sit by the fire pit was perfect! I will be definitely be renting again!

Great House
This house was perfect for our long weekend away. It was clean and cozy it had everything you could ask for. Much rather stay here then at a impersonal hotel. Their was a mix up the night we arrived and the owners were very receptive and took care of our problem! Would definitely come back!
Great get away
For the last 4 years, my family and I have stayed in this home every single year, now is a beautiful tradition that we all look forward . The house is located in a very nice quiet area with beautiful views, but yet you can find something to do for everyone. If you want to go for a walk, go to Echo Lake (beautiful) which is a very short walk, in fact you will find the trails in the back of the house. If you love to be outside and admire nature, this is the perfect place. We have recommend this place to our friends and people we know. The house is very clean, the furniture including the beds look in very good condition, the kitchen has everything needed if you like to cook and has a very nice tv. We usually get there in the night time, so we go out for dinner to our kids favorite place Flatbread (5 min drive) and if we have enough time we would see a play at the theater. For breakfast we love to go to Upstairs Caffee, very nice family own restaurant (organic food and wonderful coffee) and of course we take full advantage of what nature has to offer us near by trails, lakes, rivers, mountains etc. if we still have some time we go to the outlets....good deals. We have stayed in hotels in Jackson and North Conway, but after we stayed in this place we have never gone back to hotels.

Wonderful retreat for a family!
This was our first family vacation and having a 2.5 year old and 6 month old I wasn't willing to be cooped up into a hotel style room where we all went to bed at 7:30 when the kids go down. It was wonderful to have a house to stay in, with everything provided! We felt right at home cooking meals, sitting outside to eat dinner, and relaxing at night in the living room. It was a quick drive to Storyland (our main reason for coming up) and on our second day we enjoyed Echo Lake State Park which is right around the corner as well. The house was very well located because it's off the main strip, but close enough to still go downtown quickly to see the train and use the playground. We will definitely recommend this house to friends and will think about coming back next summer!

What a find!
We stayed at the cottage last week with friends and it was wonderful. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with more than you would expect, ie: wraps & paper towels, dish soap, etc. Excellent Internet service. Beautiful paths through woods in back of home. We would certainly return. We were there during hurricane Irene, owners called to check on us. A great few days!

Very happy with our stay
We were very happy with the location and the house. Everything was as promised. The short ride to downtown and the multiple mountains was ideal. It snowed a couple of times while we were there and someone was there quickly to plow the driveway and shovel the decks. Would stay again and recommend to others
