The 3 C's: comfy, clean and convenient

I'm so thankful this cottage was available for an unexpected stay, and I greatly appreciate the hospitality of the owner, Mike and the caretakers, Carolyn and Donna. Having previously rented here, I knew that the cottage was located in a quiet mainland community but just a short trip to the sand and surf of Ocean Isle Beach! The cottage is clean and cozy and has all the necessities of home! I especially enjoy the screened in porch on a quiet evening as you can actually hear the surf! Since my last stay, I noticed there has been quite a few updates; new living room furniture, brightened up the kitchen with freshly painted cabinets, new stove and hood, but the new flooring was gorgeous, let alone more practical! I have recommended this rental cottage before and have no hesitation suggesting others consider it. By no means, should interested renters expect the "Taj Mahal", but this cottage is the perfect place to stay for a convenient, relaxing, yet pleasantly tidy and comfortable visit.

Carolyn and Mike were very easy to work with. The description was accurate. Clean. Access to waterway was a bonus. Family had a great time fishing from the waterway.

A Piece of Heaven

Awesome place! If you are looking for up to date super modern, keep looking. This is like being home. Modern yet older, lived in comfort. When you walk in you feel like you are home. Neighborhood is great, very quiet and friendly. I feel in love with the area. Clean house and organized, House does need a a pan for toast if you don't like using the toaster. I like my toast in the oven. Beds are comfortable, plenty of parking space. Front porch is screened in as you can see from the pictures, larger than appears. You can sit on the porch and hear the boats, birds, tress whispering in the breeze. All you need are your clothes. I cannot tell you the hours we spent on the porch, early morning coffee listening to life! My only disappointment was I had to leave! We took our own linens but there are linens there to use. Boat ramp is nice and so are the piers. Wish I could have stayed a month. if you are looking for a family getaway that feels like home, this is it. Call and setup your vacation today! We will be using again!!! I do not like the Home Away folks as they are so dishonest. Mike and Carol are great to work with and there if you need them. Tell them Cindy sent you! Have a blessed day!

Pleasant week at Crane Cottage 2

We had an enjoyable week in a cozy cottage. A few minor updates/renovations such as a working grill would be nice. The owner is extremely responsive to any problems or situations. A great value for the price.

Ocean Isle getaway

Wonderful vacation in a friendly community

This house was perfect for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the pier on a daily basis, the kids really enjoyed catching fish and crabs. The location is perfect with beach access and restaurants just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay in Sept 2019

We had a wonderful stay and was very relaxing. Mike, the owner, was wonderful in letting us know that everything was ok after hurricane Dorian and no issues. Carolyn, property manager, was also very accommodating and made sure we were ok and if we needed anything. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this property.

A breath of fresh air!

This was a great cottage! Very secluded and private. The space provided was perfect for our family. We loved the yard for playing yard games (that we brought) and we loved going to the pier for fishing and watching the sunsets . We even saw dolphins and deer across the inter coastal waterway! It was very relaxing. It was so nice to NOT be in the middle of the chaos of the main island, but have the convenience of the beach being so close. Mike was always available via phone to answer any questions and Carolyn (the caretaker) was very sweet and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful place !

Thank you Mike for allowing us to stay at the Thrush Cottage 1, it was pleasant, beautiful and peaceful. My son truly enjoyed the private fishing piers.
