Welcome to Moose Walk Cabin. Your Alaskan home away from home is a two-story log home nestled on a quiet wooded lot by a large stream. The cabin is in a prime location, close to activities, but still remote enough to get that Alaska wilderness feel.

Perfect for aurora viewing, a romantic get away, family vacation, or extended stay.

LOCATION

Moose Walk Cabin is situated in the heart of all your Interior Alaska destinations: North Pole Alaska. Grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and the famous Santa Claus house are a short 4 miles from the cabin. Downtown Fairbanks and Fairbanks International Airport are a quick 20 minute drive.

WINTER VISITORS

If comfortably watching natures greatest winter exhibition (the Aurora Borealis) is on your bucket list; then you've found the right place. No one knows what time of night the aurora will appear. Stay nice and cozy snuggled on the couch in the cabin, while you anxiously gaze out the large picture windows for the mystical aurora to begin its dance. While outside capturing those magical moments, don't worry about getting cold and missing a single second of the aurora. Nestle up to a crackling fire in front of the cabin as the skies mesmerize you with magical hues of green, purple, and red.

The below link is your view of the aurora from the cabin living room.

At the front porch, strap on your skis or snowshoes and trek out into the winter wonderland. You will find endless miles of trails waiting for you to discover them.

Are you looking for a snowmobile , ice fishing tour or Aurora viewing ice fishing tour and now our new office with dog mushing tours.Your host Rod is a Licensed Guide and personally guides outdoor trips year round. Both of our offices are just down the road from the cabin. Book your trip today.

After a long day of braving the Alaskan cold, unwind by the wood stove as you listen to the wood crackle and watch the flames dance across the logs. Wood is free and provided on site. We are happy to provide instruction for the wood stove. The wood stove will heat the cabin but not necessary to use. The cabin has a fuel oil heater as the primary heat source.

SUMMER VISITORS

Paddle down the meandering stream in a canoe for a romantic trip or to spend quality time with the kids. Two canoes with multiple sizes of life vests are provided.

Jump in the canoe or amble along the bank to fish for grayling by fly rod or spinning rod. Grayling are easier to catch on a fly rod. Don't worry if you have never fished with a fly rod. It is easy. Every guest who has used a fly rod for the first time at Moose Walk Cabin has caught fish. Please let us know if you need fishing instruction. We are happy to help.

From the front door you can blaze endless miles of hiking, and ATV trails. Bring your ATVs; there is plenty of parking.

GREAT TO KNOW INFO

A rental vehicle is necessary when visiting Alaska. Public transportation is not what you see in other countries and big cities. Taxis are available, but cost is typically more than a rental vehicle. A one-way taxi trip to the airport is around $60.00. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is not necessary, but recommended if you plan to drive to the Arctic Circle.

Awesome Cabin perfect location

Very impressive?

Elegant, Top Notch & Super Clean Log Home in Majestic Alaska!

The wonderful owners of this great and roomy cabin have provided everything that you would need.. It is beautifully decored, well maintained and soothingly peaceful. We had an extremely comfortable stay with plenty of firewood. The owners are great people that will help if needed but leave you to complete privacy. This is the only place we would stay if we are ever fortunate again to return to Captivating Alaska!

Log cabin

Loved the log home and the charm that went with it! Wish there was some fish to be caught and some wildlife to be seen.

Wonderful - just wonderful

This was our first 'HomeAway' property and the experience could not have been better. Communication from the outset was great - emails, messages etc - and the host, Terri, was just what you wanted. She made us welcome and explained everything we needed to know but we never felt that she (our next door neighbour) was keeping an eye on us. In terms of facilities it could not have been better - the fridge was stocked with the kind of stuff you wonder whether you ought to bring yourself (ketchup, dressings, oils, etc) and the cupboards / machines had everything too (coffee pods, all kinds of teas). Over and above this, we had infinite stocks of firewood ... free access to kayaks ... just perfect. The location itself is idyllic, smack bang next to the creek / river. The fact that it rained pretty much the entire time we were there (three nights, two days) and that we saw no 'big' wildlife other than ducks and the occasional eagle didn't detract from the experience in the slightest. So, overall a 100% experience, Terri is a generous host - we could not recommend her higher.

Beautiful Cabin in the woods

Had a wonderful stay with my fiance and 2 other couples (6 total). Truly beautiful cabin in the woods. Quite and quaint. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again next time we're in Fairbanks!

Perfect setting, accommodations, and location.

This experience could not have been any better! The river beside the cabin and seeing the moose and other wildlife was truly exhilarating! The cabin was spotless and the beds very comfortable!

Vacation from vacation

Our stay here was right in the middle of a two week vacation in Alaska. We were able to relax and unwind from all of our running around, and recharge for our last few days of vacation. The cabin was well equipped and there were grocery stores close enough that we cooked most of our meals. We fished in the stream behind the cabin and caught a bunch of arctic grayling. This was a great experience during our Alaskan adventure and Rod and Terri were welcoming hosts!

Wonderful cabin!

Fantastic little cabin with everything you might need. We saw the Aurora Borealis from the deck and had a nightly visit by a moose. We saw eagles each day we were there. We hated to leave!

Staying here is a must !

One of the coziest cabins I’ve ever stayed in ! This place is a must and the Hosts are spectacular !

Beautiful

Quiet, comfortable. Stocked with essentials. Enjoyed our stay.
