Description

Log Home on the Lake sits high on a hill with an accommodating staircase from the hill to the lower yard.  The lower yard offers plenty of flat grass lawn at the shoreline which is ideal for badminton, volleyball or bean bag toss.  We have a 95  foot long Pier with a  12x 20 deck located at the end of the pier.  A perfect spot to fish, sit and watch the sailboats, water skiers and beautiful sunsets.

Log Home on the Lake has a concrete sea wall at the shoreline where the grass meets the water.  The concrete wall is 30 inches tall (the height of most kitchen tables). If you were to stand in the water at the shore, the concrete wall and grassy yard would be at table height.  The normal water line at the shore is 18 deep which makes this depth ideal for small children. At the end of our pier, the water is approximately three feet deep. There is a ladder on the pier to make entering or exiting the water comfortably.  The lake bottom by us is made up of clay and sand. Close to shore the bottom is mostly clay and small stones. Near the end of the pier, the bottom is mostly sand. We do not have any seaweed and we do not have any muck at our location. Visibility in the water is limited (less than a foot). We do our best to keep the lake bottom clear of dangerous debris, however, the ice and water movement are continually changing the shore bottom. With water shoes, children will have a fantastic time in the water. We recommend using water shoes for swimming.

Log Home on the Lake does not offer a sandy beach at our location, but we do have a sandbox near the shore to keep your children occupied. 

If you are looking for a Sandy Beach, the Cedar Lake town park has a beach open to the public. Or if you are looking for a day trip, Lake Michigan has some beautiful sand-dune beaches about an hour North of our home.

We currently accept Payment by MasterCard, Visa credit card, personal check or cashiers check only.

We only ask for payment from you after we have a signed rental agreement and conversation with the responsible guest by telephone. Before sending payment, confirm all reservations by calling.

Cancellation Policy

A $1,000.00 cancellation fee shall apply for any booking cancelled more than 30 days in advance of scheduled arrival.  A cancellation fee of full rental amount less cleaning fees and security deposits shall apply for any booking cancelled less than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival. If Landlord is able to re book home to a suitable, qualified tenant for an equal or greater rent, a maximum $500.00 cancellation fee shall apply.  The balance of any verified deposits shall be returned to the tenant with 30 days. Total rental amount, sales tax, lodging tax, cleaning fee, refundable security deposit, and other applicable charges stated here in shall be paid in full prior to 21 days of arrival, or this agreement may be cancelled by landlord with the forfeiture of any deposits made.
