For excellent country walks, Gipping Valley and Thornham Estate have 12 miles of footpaths, while at Suffolk Water Park and Needham Lake there are water sports available. The area also offers plenty for animal lovers, with British birds of prey at Stonham Barns and the Suffolk Wildlife Park both within easy reach. Nearby is the busy port of Ipswich, which boasts several medieval churches and some fine 16th-century buildings. The Museum and Art Gallery houses replicas of the famous Sutton Hoo archaeological finds, and Christchurch Mansion, set in a large park, is a lively domestic museum with furniture, doll’s houses and children’s toys, as well as a fine art collection. Amazing - would love to stay again
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we were sad to leave. We stayed with our 2 young daughters, and another family of 5. The place is so well equipped with everything you need for a great stay. By far the best equipped kitchen for a vacation rental we have ever stayed in and we travel frequently. It felt like home. Very clean house, gorgeous large garden, the pool is lovely, we had so much fun. Very peaceful rural location but quick and easy to get out and about with a car. Would definitely recommend for a family stay and we would love to stay again. Lovely host, super helpful, one of the best hosts we’ve ever had.

We had a great time at this place during our Easter holiday break. The place was very well maintained and had a very good choice of things to do for kids. This is very much suitable for a family time and with friends who have kids. Best highlight of this place: Indoor swimming pool

Quiet and secluded with a great pool
Lark Rise was clean and well appointed, with plenty of space for all our group. It is located within a large, secluded, well maintained garden. The separate indoor pool is fantastic – larger than expected and warm enough for the coldest of days. Giles, the owner, welcomed us and gave us a good tour of the property explaining how the major facilities worked. We would thoroughly recommend Lark Rise to anyone wishing to stay in the area, and would be happy to return ourselves.
