Description
Ideal for family. Russell Square tube, bus or walk to London's best attractions
The apartment occupies the top two floors of a Georgian townhouse in Bloomsbury, a quiet, elegant corner of central London, close to Russell Square, Kings Cross-St Pancras and Chancery Lane tube stations. You are in the centre of London, close enough to walk to most of the places you'll want to visit, short bus or tube rides to other tourist must-sees, but this is a quiet, secure part of town with little night time traffic or noise. The most common phrases in our visitor's book are 'great location' and 'we'll be back'.
Built in the 1790s, this historic building boasts all the luxuries of a modern home, including a fully-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer plus lots of pots, pans and utensils for cooking), washing machine, satellite TV and DVD player, free wi-fi, power shower and modern bathroom.
The spacious living room is light and airy with two large sofas plus a chair that converts into a comfortable single bed. The TV has multiple satellite channels including Sky Sports & Sky Cinema and there are speakers for your MP3 player, a dvd player and a few DVDs. Our bookshelf is stuffed with books which feature London. guidebooks for London and maps for you to take with you as you explore the city. We also have a few toys for young children and games. Two large sash windows with Georgian wooden shutters look out to the historic street below.
The adjoining kitchen is light, spacious and has a dining table and six chairs. It has everything you would expect in a modern kitchen; oven, hob, large refrigerator, separate freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and two coffee makers. The kitchen has plenty of crockery and cutlery, cooking utensils, baking trays, saucepans, a wok, pots, pans and everything you need to make a family supper and eat in. We also have a flask and some sandwich boxes for you to make lunch and take it out with you (ideal if you are feeding a family).
A short but steep flight of stairs leads up to two bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower, with plentiful hot water. The basin has a mirror over it and the heated towel rail and underfloor heating keeps the bathroom warm and cosy.
The large master bedroom has a king-size double bed and a single bed with large wardrobe, feature mirror and Victorian chest of drawers. Two bedside tables with drawers each have a touch operated lamps. There's an alarm clock too. The master bedroom can sleep three people, but is usually used for two adults.
The second bedroom has two single beds (adult sized) with Victorian chest of drawers, hanging space for clothes and mirror. Both bedrooms have 'black-out' blinds so that you are not woken by early morning sun.
A cot (baby crib) and highchair are available on request (please bring your own bedding for the baby's cot). Bed linen and towels included.
A hairdryer, an iron and ironing board are provided, along with an umbrella.
A good choice of restaurants are within a 5 minute walk and there is a large Waitrose supermarket 10 minutes walk away in The Brunswick Shopping Centre. A smaller Co-Op supermarket is a convenient 3 minute walk on Grays Inn Road.

The Best of Everything
Our family of 5 had THE BEST time staying in this spacious apartment. Located in the gorgeous area of Bloomsbury, the apartment is situated within easy walking distance to a choice of Underground stations, primarily Russell Square Station which is right on the Piccadilly Line and therefore easy access direct from Heathrow Airport. Excellent supermarket and numerous restaurants nearby. Super central spot so close to Covent Garden, West End etc, that we often walked home after being out. The best part was how quiet and peaceful it was. EXTREMELY comfortable beds and everything you need. Washing machine was very helpful. We stayed during very warm weather and the apartment was beautiful. Melissa, the host, was so friendly and helpful. Loved it so much that we are booking it for next year!

A super convenient
We stayed at 22 John Street, from 28th Dec to 10th Jan 2019. We found the location super convenient, as we were within 5-7min walk to 2 major tube lines (Russell Square on Piccadilly Line or Chancery Lane on Central Line). Additionally, 2 great pubs within stones throw, we could receive the apartment’s WiFi from one of them. Waitrose shopping near Russell Square Station, Covent Garden / Leicester Square within a 15min walk. The apartment had every thing we required. Was very clean, warm, comfortable and cosy for us Aussies (not acclimatized to the English winter). Will definitely come back.

We loved our three weeks at Bloomsbury apartment
Ms. Mackey was kind, and stayed late to welcome us when we arrived much later than scheduled. She was very helpful and accommodating.. The flat is located in a very lovely area, close to the tube , shopping and the British Museum. The flat was clean, comfortable and quiet. Thank you, Melissa for a wonderful stay in London.
