Description
Once home to the W.P. Bickel tintype photography studio, this amazing apartment is coastal chic at its best! Inside you'll find vaulted ceilings with distressed tongue and groove wood highlighting an open floor plan. Custom kitchen is fully stocked with cooking essentials, quartz countertops, glass tile backsplash. Dining room features a french-bead chandelier and zinc-topped dining table for four. Don't miss the great view down Main Street from the dining room window! Each bedrooms is beautifully set up for comfort and relaxation. Both rooms have a TV with DirecTV service, premium ultra comfortable mattresses, and quality linens. Best of all is the porch off the dining area! With its own dining table, you'll find yourself spending more time outside than in. A great spot for people watching, the balcony with historic balustrade is breezy and has great views of historic downtown Cedar Key. You'll find the 'peeled paint' on the flooring out there to be vintage charm with a surprise--it's tile!
Our final touch to the studio is a spacious, private deck area. Custom landscaping and pavers have just been installed to allow for seating and beauty. It's a great spot to relax and enjoy the island.
Just across the street are three of the newest stores in town--Bonish Studios (gift shop, art studio and bar), Cedar Key Country Store (our favorite home decor and more shop in town!), as well as Cedar Key's hippest new coffee shop, 1842 Daily Grind. Find scones, muffins, light breakfast and lunch specials, italian sodas, and of course, great coffee!
Due to the prime location of this studio, NO private parking is available--Street Parking Only! Boats/trailers will not be able to park near the studio. Parking for boats/trailers will need to be near the marina, just one block away. Entry for the studio is currently around the side of the building and is NOT paved. Tenants should be prepared to bring their luggage through a mowed area. Some day we will have better access, but as of now, it's Cedar Key style--nothing fancy but functional.
This property has a STRICT LIMIT of four people. Please don't try to exceed this number as we work directly below this apartment and will know. If we find that you have excess tenants, you may be asked to leave immediately and will not receive a refund or your deposit back.

Exactly like the pictures
We had a family of three stay for Christmas and it was exactly what we were expecting. Great location and an easy walk to all of the shopping and restaurants on the island. I cannot think of one negative item about the home. I was a great and inviting space.

Loved Cedar Key and this apartment!
Cedar Key is a wonderful place to "kick back" & rest a bit. We had wonderful weather, the people were friendly & the birding was great. We managed to find the roseate spoonbills and watched them feed. The apartment was beautiful and met our needs perfectly. It was beautifully decorated, beds comfortable (used both since hubby snores), well stocked with items needed prior to shopping trip. A few minor problems developed during our month-long stay but Caryn & Anne were very responsive and helpful. The porch was great for sitting in the warm weather & eating evening meals. Cedar Key is a great walking/biking town & we made the most of it. There is a great little grocery right behind the apartment with good wines, pizza and subs. There is a coffee shop across the street which became a favorite haunt. The apartment is only a block from the water and all town locales can be easily reached. A few day trips included Shell Mound (really a must see), Suwannee Nature Preserve, Dennis Creek Trail, Manatee Springs and the town of Dunnellen which had great shopping. Thanks Caryn & Anne for a wonderful stay.

Clean, beautiful, and convenient.
My wife and our daughter stayed for the weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday quietly. The location was great, walked across the street for breakfast (1842 Daily Grind) and dinner (Tony's). Took a golf cart rented from Dell at Cedar Key Adventures for lunch at the Big Deck Raw Bar. Studio 589 was beautiful inside and provided all of the amenities for a nice weekend. The beds were comfortable and so was the living room. The outside deck oversaw 2nd St and all of the activity that goes on; great for people watching. The check in and out was a breeze, most contact with Anne Young was either over the phone or email. She and Pelican Reality never disappoints! While in Cedar Key, we saw kids getting pictures for Senior Prom and also saw a wedding party celebrating at the Island Hotel. All in all a very eventful weekend, but entirely within our quiet expectations of Cedar Key. The sunsets were great too! We will be back!

Very nice and clean home in a good Cedar Key location
We spent a week in this lovely home and enjoyed both the home and Cedar Key. The living area and bed were comfortable and we loved sitting on the porch. Everything was very clean. The restaurant across that everyone recommended for breakfast was closed while we were there but Duncan's on the pier was great. Steamers was also a wonderful dinner place.

A true GEM in Cedar Key!
This home is an absolute gem! The location cannot be beat, literally at the corner of two “main” streets in town, neighboring some excellent local businesses including a wonderful coffee shop, a great restaurant, an art shop, and a great spot for happy hour drinks. The porch overlooking these establishments was a huge hit - and the breeze out there sealed the deal. The home is recently renovated and the decor is just perfect. The furnishings are comfortable, the rooms nicely appointed, and the bathroom spacious and very functional. I’d highly recommend this home to anyone visiting Cedar Key!

Three-Day Girls’ Weekend
The property was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The porch is lovely and breezy, and the location can not be beat! The coffee shop, 1842 Daily Grind, is RIGHT across the street - delish breakfast and wonderful iced coffee. The market is around the corner. Dock Street and the public access beach are an incredibly short walk - and everyone in town is so nice! If you want a low key weekend - this is your place ?? We want to go back every year!

Amazing little condo!
This was our third time to cedar key and this little condo is by far our favorite place to stay. Amazing location overlooking 2nd and an easy walk to the marina and all the delicious restaurants. It was extremely clean, beautifully decorated and well stocked with all the necessities. The owner was quick to communicate and to take care of anything we needed. I highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants an incredible visit to cedar key.

Fantastic Property
This 2 bedroom condo in the heart of Cedar Key is absolutely fantastic. When the owners renovated this unit they took everything into consideration. The decorations are perfect, minimal but tasteful! The paint colors are perfect for island life. Also, the owners took stocking the kitchen into consideration with cooking in mind. Thank you for that!! The location of this condo is perfect for walking to everywhere you want to go. As someone who has stayed on the island many times and never visited the museum within just a few feet of this condo, I recommend everyone go. It gives a great history of Cedar Key. We will definitely consider staying here again.
