Freights Reach is a contemporary 2 story villa on Barbados’ beautiful South Coast. Ideal for families and small groups the house is fully equipped and the interiors are light, bright and airy providing tranquil surroundings with cool tiled floors downstairs and natural wooden floors upstairs. Housekeeping two days per week is included.
Overlooking the glittering azure waters of the Caribbean, the villa is located yards from the main access to Freights Bay, Barbados’ most popular surfing location. If you are a beginner there are several options for equipment rental and tuition.
Double doors lead on to spacious terraces on both floors; enjoy morning coffee on the upstairs patio with its sea views, and later in the day the shaded area of the verandah and pool deck are ideal for enjoying the sea breezes while watching hummingbirds flit about the vibrantly coloured bougainvillea and hibiscus in the private garden; or you can get some sun-kissed R&R lounging by the pool with a good book and a cool drink.
In the evening al-fresco dining is a must, sample the local fish from Oistins market (a 20 minute walk) on the barbecue; and visit the famous Friday night “ Fish Fry” for a lively evening’s entertainment.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with Quartz counter tops, a 2 door large fridge/freezer with ice maker, as well as 2 Smeg convection ovens and ceramic cook top.
The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and 2 further bedrooms sharing a family bathroom are located upstairs. The fourth bedroom with en-suite bathroom is on the ground floor. All bedrooms are air-conditioned.
The large drive provides sheltered off-street parking.
Nearby restaurants within walking distance offer a varied cuisine with many more fine restaurants and bars just a 10-12 min drive away.
Swimming, surfing and paddle-boarding are all popular in Freights Bay but if your fancy is just for a relaxing swim the dazzling white sands of Miami Beach are a very pleasant 12 minute walk around the bay. In addition Windsurfing and kitesurfing are available at Silver Point (3km by road).
Golfers can book a tee time from 7am any day at the Barbados Golf Club, a 7 minute drive away.

Happy times
We enjoyed our stay at John’s house and would recommend it to others. Time was taken to present a clean , well equipped house with a small supply of groceries on entry. We were six and given the several sitting areas and garden we’re able to have our privacy whilst being able to share common eating and cooking. So if you wish to read a book while some listened to music , that was all possible. It was in a quiet location which provided a nice retreat. The sea was close by and the lovely Caribbean breeze on the south side was a joy when sitting out. The real find was Della, the helper . She kept the house and laundry clean and fresh wile being pleasant and helpful. Everything worked in the house and there was ample parking for three cars. Everyone was helpful (john/ Carolina) and all in all it was a great place to stay in Barbados for 12 days.

We love this house and it’s location so much. The pool is great for kids and we love surfing at freights bay across the street. It’s a sweet spot in a sweet neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Great Vacation
We were 6 Adults and Child all rated a 5. Property is very very well maintained. Pictures online match what you get. We did find Pool bottom to be abrasive, maybe rough to prevent slipping but we had some sore toes/feet after a week. Grounds were very well maintained. Staff (Maid, Gardeners and Pool Man), were very accommodating and friendly. Housekeeper Della, who was in every couple of days, was Great, Unabtrusive and Friendly! We did have a Catered in Meal from Villa Chefs that was extremely disappointing with cold food served 2 hours late. We had 2 meals scheduled but cancelled 2nd. Our main Downstairs Bedroom Bed was not that good with creaking when we moved. Would rate 4.75 if possible due to Bed and Pool but overall a very enjoyable stay and would probably rebook if we came back to Barbados.
