The Waianae Marina is less than five miles from the condo. The tour boats will take you on Amazing Adventures to nearby locations which offer the best snorkeling on the island. You can swim with the dolphins and even whale watch during the winter months. Nearby Poka'i Bay is a great place to swim. This protected cove is like swimming in a huge salt water pool. If you enjoy nature you are going to LOVE the beautiful peacocks which roam freely around the property and the braying sounds of the wild billy goats that reside in the mountains right outside your door.

Quiet and Relaxing

What a beautiful place that is tastefully furnished and has a spectacular view! Kitchen is well stocked. Bed was comfy. Communication with owner was easy. We had a very nice stay.

Perfect slice of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu
My son and I stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. A few things stood out. If you are looking for the "city" experience, this is not it; however, the drive is an easy one. Waianea is the perfect place to experience the easier pace and spirit of O'ahu. The condo sits a little higher up so experiences a bit more wind than you get down at the beach, but it's Hawaii - the breeze is warm and wonderful. The condo community is well cared for, the 24 hour staff are friendly and helpful, the residents welcoming. The condo itself was just perfect. It was clean and fresh and offered everything you could need. The kitchen was well stocked - there wasn't a thing that I could think of that would have make cooking better. The condo has been nicely updated, the bathroom beautiful, the bed extremely comfortable, the view breathtaking (out of both sides of the condo). I didn't realize the resident peacocks were so talkative. They were absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend staying here for any trip you take to the leeward side. Mahalo Sandy.

Excellent Stay!
This is the perfect condo for those vacationing on the west side. It’s beautifully decorated and updated, even smelled good every time we walked in the whole time we were there! Had everything we needed including beach gear which was so fun to use. The host was wonderful and the grounds are beautiful. Felt very safe the entire time and while the peacocks are quite loud we got used to them quickly and they were not a bother to us. The views are breathtaking from the condo and we loved being just a 5 minute drive from beautiful makaha beach! Would highly recommend this condo and can’t wait to stay here again in the future!

Best views on the west side
Thank you Sandy Pelgram for sharing your condominium with us this week! We had a blast here in Hawaii and hope to be able to do another trip! The ONLY bad thing was the peacocks, they are beautiful but very noisy! It was mating season here at Mahaka Valley Towers, which I’m sure waswas worse than usual! Hubby had a hard time with sleep but I use earphones with background noise anyway so I wasn’t much bothered by them. The view from this unit is awesome on both sides! The beach and ocean out the living room and a Mountain View from the front door! Breathtaking sunsets at Kea’au beach park! And the locals were very friendly and helpful! I recommend this property highly! Aloha Mahalo and A Hui Hou!

Great condo! Clean and remodeled!
When we arrived (late arrival) we were grateful for the security of the condo with a person at the entrance guard shack and also impressed by their personal greeting and directions to the parking lot and request to check in with the office the next morning. Our reservation was located immediately, the guard knew we were coming and the "no fuss" check-in was appreciated at the late hour of our arrival. The key of the condo was found where it was promised to be, we opened the door to a nicely remodeled condo with a boogie board, snorkel gear and beach chairs in the back closet. I forgot to ask if there would be any beach gear available, so this was a pleasant and much appreciated surprise! Unload your gear/luggage behind the condo in the unloading zone when you arrive, the hike up from the front of the condo is exactly, that, a HIKE! The condo kitchen was just like home (utensils, plates, glasses)and the full size frig was great! The two extra sets of keys to the condo on the kitchen counter (as well as the 3rd set outside on the wall) was appreciated! Living room was roomy and comfortable. The small deck was small. :) Don't hang your towels to dry on the deck railing, you'll get a warning! oops, should have read the rules a bit closer! The bedroom and bed was comfortable. The linens were clean, but the pillows smelled bad through the linens. Time for NEW pillows! We slept like babies until we woke to the peacocks cry's the first morning. Only because of our late arrival was it too early to hear them, we were up before their cry's on our other mornings. Just to warn others': There are peacocks and they are noisy in the morning. "Wilbur" the wild boar wandering the parking lot was spotted two morning of our 8 day stay. I hope Wilbur comes around for you, he was one of the highlights of our stay! He DOES like PBJ's! We felt like we drove a lot to get to our locations, but after we talked this through, regardless of where you stay on Oahu, you will need to drive a lot. The North shore, PCC, Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach, they all need to be driven to and no matter where you stay on the island, you will inevitably need to DRIVE. Be ready for the traffic on Oahu! Beautiful place, beautiful view
My fiance and I really enjoyed our stay in the Makaha Valley. While we were originally looking for a cottage or similar we ended up with this condo and we have no regrets. There are some very nice, less crowded beaches within a few minute drive. There's also some good local food within 5-10 minutes (we went to Aloha Poke twice). We saw some other reviews noting the traffic getting to and from the property but we only experienced this once and we drove every day. A lot of the Oahu attractions (North Shore, Waikiki, Dole Plantation, etc.) are a decent drive from here but the drives are so beautiful, that's hardly a negative. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful setting and view
Loved the condo. It was every bit as nice in person as it was in the photos. We had an issue with the fridge and the property manager was over lickety-split to address it. He must live on site. Beautiful view of the mountain range. Picturesque. We really loved it. Thanks for the hospitality.
