The most incredible time on this gem of a bay!

We stayed at Bill's house for 16 days at the beginning of February and had the most amazing time. If you want to get away from the tourist trap of a lot of beach destinations and have a truly unique and unforgettable experience surrounded by stunning views, wildlife, friendly people and delicious local food, stay here. The house is huge and has everything you need, but honestly you'll be spending all of your time outdoors and exploring the area. Local vendors come by every day selling fresh seafood, hot tamales, empanadas, baked goods, fresh juice, fruits, vegetables, etc. There is even an ice cream truck that comes by every couple of days. All of the vendors are kind and respectful, no pushiness here. Patsi and Les, the property managers that live down the beach are extremely friendly, helpful, and know everything about the area! Definitely ask them about their stories and recommendations. The beach the house is on, Playa Coyote, is straight from a postcard. The water is crystal clear and is perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. The sunrises are stunning and not to be missed. We were lucky enough to paddle right in front of the house with 30+ dolphins one morning at sunrise - an unforgettable experience. You can kayak out to various islands or nearby beaches, walk on the beach, hike in the desert, go fishing, snorkeling, horseback riding, or drive into Loreto for whale watching tours (well worth it!) or just strolling around the cute town trying the delicious cafes and meeting friendly people. Or you can do nothing at all and just stare at the incredible view. Definitely go on a boat tour with Juan Carlos - he is wonderful and you will have a truly unique experience. Horseback riding is beautiful and Marcello is a hoot, and Alex offers awesome sportfishing if you want to spend a day out on the water. Go fishing at the beginning of your trip so you have time to eat everything you catch! Buy the ceviche from the vendors every day - you will not have better ceviche anywhere! The drive from the Loreto airport to the house is beautiful. Roads are great, people are helpful, and the area is very safe. It's far enough to feel like you are away from it all, but close enough that you can still do any activity that comes to mind. We did not want to leave and we will definitely be back!

A very attractive home on a beautiful small bay near Loreto.

Coyote Beach is a dream come true--blue/green clear warm waters reflect the light over white sands below. Only private homes are here, so no crowded hotels to share the beach with. Lovely views from the palapa and all front windows; morning coffee sitting under the palm leaf palapa is a must for daily sunrise. Cooks will enjoy using the large kitchen and one may daily enjoy the bounty provided by local vendors. Suggest you pre-shop for basics and vegetables and special treats in the 2 big markets of Loreto (much better stocked than Mulege) and then daily purchase scallops, fish, empanadas, and odds and ends of produce as supplies are used. Have fun, try new Mexican recipes (I always take some with me), and cook up a storm. Enjoy simple meals at JC's on El Burro--and yes, take a pontoon boat ride to truly enjoy views of the sea and coast. Fishing was great. The whale sharks are great mascots of the cove--so big, quiet, and gentle. Stingrays underfoot not so friendly, so shuffle feet. Take a book--it's a great place to catch up on your reading list--though nothing is better than simple staring at the incredible view. Internet not always perfect, but hey--you're on vacation, in Mexico, so go with the flow.

Ultimate Relaxation

Playa Coyote we will see you again! Four couples in a beautiful villa on the beach eating fresh shrimp and fish sold to us everyday by the locals! WOW!! Friendly people and good company in the most amazing surroundings! We kayaked and paddle boarded most days with the whale sharks right out in the bay! Juan Carlos had his son Nixon and diver Juan take us out on his pontoon boat where we got to snorkel, boat with a pod of dolphins, and eat fresh dug clams and scallops after Nixon and Juan cooked them for us over an open fire on the back side of the island that you see from the villa. Sunrises and sunsets are able to be seen from the villa and oh how beautiful they are! The men in our group went out fishing by moonlight with a local fisherman a couple houses down the beach and they had a wonderful time! We will return someday...I hope sooner rather than later! Thank you to Manuel and Carmen for picking us up in Loreto and dropping us back off when it was time to leave. Thank you to Patsi and Les for all their help and info to make our stay the best it could be!

A little slice of heaven in the biggest Villa on the beach

This villa provides a majestic environment, it's perfect for time with friends or family, and it never disappoints. The locals make you feel at home as you admire some of their homemade creations on the beach. Local excursions can provide adventure or you can stay villa side and relish in relaxation. I hope to be blessed enough to experience this beautiful paradise again soon.

Paradise

I have been fortunate to spend a week's vacation at this lovely villa for the past 4 years. This home lends itself beautifully to our annual girls trip. It has everything we could possibly want or need. We all look forward to the familiar; a boat tour and lunch by Jaun Carlo, Carmen and Maneul's helpful friendliness, the beach vendors who bring fresh fish, tamales, jewelery, pottery and clothes. What could be better than shopping right on the beach! An excursion into Mulege for lunch and browsing is always fun. This year we discovered some real talented artists right on Coyote Playa, more shopping! Horseback riding was a new adventure this year, and Taco Tuesday was a hit at the next beach over. My favorite is morning coffee under the palapa, friends all cooking together in the well equipped kitchen, enjoying the warm water and awesome bay view. Looking forward to next year already!

Christmas Dream

I will just say that I agree with all the previous reviews. This house is lovely and in an ideal location on beautiful Playa Coyote. The bay is calm and perfect for kayaking and fishing. Mulagé is charming and not touristy at all. We got to know lots of the local ex-pats and did all the fun excursions with JC that previous reviewers have mentioned. Everyone is so friendly, and Patsi even invited us to play bingo one night with the group which was a blast! We loved buying fish, shrimp, banana bread, and fresh tamales every morning from the locals who would come up the beach to our house. We also went on a deep sea fishing outing with the brother in law (Alex) of the lady who sold tamales, and we caught 20 fish including a huge yellow fin for our Christmas Eve dinner. What a wonderful, memorable vacation!

Spring Trip to Coyote Beach

We are first time visitors to the Loreto area. We had such a wonderful time on our trip to the Loreto area! The house was a perfect fit for our family, our 11 and 13 yr old loved the shells along the beach, kayaking the bay and seeing all of the dolphins (over 100!) on our day with Alex. Being able to walk directly out into the water from the back porch, sit on the patio and watch the ocean, ample space to enjoy in the house are just a few of the perks of this property. Renting the kayaks and paddle board which are at the house made it very convenient to get out and tour the bay area. The house was very clean, no bugs, very well kept for and ready to go! The property managers were helpful upon our arrival and can be reached, if needed, via a radio located in the home. There is no cell service in the area, however, the wifi worked well. Despite the high winds during our stay, we enjoyed a day on the water fishing with Alex and another day touring with Juan Carlos. We were hoping to see whales, however, there weren't any in the bay or surrounding areas. Per the locals, it was unseasonably cold during our trip, we were in pants and sweatshirts most of the time. We will definitely be back later in the year when the air and water temps rise.

Excelent property for being in the middle of nowhere

Very nice house, very clean, if you like going to baja, this is the perfect place to go. The manager patsy is an excellent person. I wouldnt recomend going in the summer because it can get very hot, the house has slight electrical problems but patsy got in touch with the owner and they should be settled in no time.

Las mejores vacacione

Es nuestra tercera estancia y ei clima estupendo, el lugar muy buenas condiciones, y mejor equipo a/c ya cuenta con una disca para freir muy bien todo en general.
