Built as a second story home on 1.25 acres, there is an eagle's eye view in all directions from two decks. Stars at night are close enough to count. Hike in the desert and make friends with the families of Saguaro Cactus - the Angel Guardians of the desert. Easy access from Rio Verde Drive a major highway and only a few blocks from the main paved road. One block from the Tonto National Forest with miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horses! Two miles to the beautiful Rio Verde River! 10 minutes to World Class Golf courses at Trilogy, Tonto Verde, Rio Verde, and even Cave Creek & North Scottsdale Courses! A quiet studio apartment/home yet it is still just 15 minutes to shopping in Fountain Hills or North Scottsdale, groceries, restaurants, services and more.
A one block walk from the deck and you are enfolded in the Peace of the Sonoran Desert, the Saguaro Cactus and the Tonto Nat'l forest.
This is a 'Casita' or small house and it really is 1 large Studio room with Kitchen, Living, and Queen Bed (there is an Aerobed if specially needed), a marble bathroom, a utiliy room, and closet space. It is a unique & elegant space, and is kept immaculately clean and shiny.

Please no shoes in the Casita, too many Cactus Spines around. Although we love pets, we have chosen to have a no-pet policy so that we can try to provide an allergy-free space. No Smoking - The Casita is not a party house so we have an absolutely no drugs, vapors or marijuana policy and request limiting Alcohol use to health promoting levels in moderation. We ask our Guests to Respect our Property and keep it at the excellent level that they found it upon their arrival and please follow the guidelines posted in the house.

Definitely a 5 star rating! Luxury accommodations with incredible attention to detail! Hosts were very available and welcoming. Definitely recommend for quiet getaway for two.

We loved staying at this Casita. Beautifully furnished and immaculate. We enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to and watching nature, beautiful sunsets over the mountains. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a lovely property. It’s well equipped, functional and very comfortable.Excellent WiFi connectivity. Lots of little touches that make it a very nice stay. Owners were very responsive and helpful. If you’re looking for someplace to de-stress and relax, this is the perfect place. Located close to many hiking trails.

Just what we needed!
This was our first time staying in the desert and we were looking for a special and unique place that would afford us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the environment. Simply put, we found it at the Casita Retreat. As we entered the Casita, there was soft music welcoming us into the immaculate and well furnished guest house. The views were spectacular and with hiking trails right off the property, we were free to explore the beauty of the desert. The warm and genuine hospitality shown by Neil and Linda was so appreciated and it was clearly evident that they both take great pride in providing their guests with the very best experience possible. We highly recommend the Casita Retreat!!

Best kept secret in Rio Verde
I was intrigued by this place when I saw it on HomeAway. It took me almost a year before I was able to stay. The place is truly beautiful and so peaceful! It is not very close to phoenix, about 1 hour from the airport but if you are looking to get away and relax this place is perfect! I would suggest getting groceries on your way out to the place. Its very close to some wonderful hiking and its a great place to just enjoy and relax. The casita is beautifully done! The kitchen, bath everything has just the highest quality of workmanship. I really enjoyed my time here. Neill was so accommodating, met me when I got there at 9 pm and had everything ready for me. I cannot say enough about how lovely this place is. I hope to return someday.
