Harbour Couture is a redesigned general store nestled in the heart of Southport, Trinity Bay. Described as a 'New York loft' it is at once traditional and sophisticated. The 800 square foot main floor living area has six large windows facing south. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom and dining table on this level. A beautifully decorated lower level apartment has everything you need for comfort and convenience: master bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The sitting room on this level has a comfy sofabed.
Southport is a fishing harbour where crab, caplein, lobster, herring, and cod are landed during the summer season. Guests can explore the shoreline, visit the wharves and chat with local fishermen. Or walk five minutes to the end of the community and it is pure ocean, cliffs and sky!
Take Pap's Path up to Jack Baker's Hill - the views of the bay are stunning! Swim in the pristine Lambert's Pond just 5 minute walk from the shop.
Collect driftwood at Heart's Ease Beach for a boil-up or keep treasures.
Note to Kayakers: enjoy this bay with islands, coves, caves and beaches. The 4-hour round trip from Harbour Couture down to Wester' Head, up through the tickle, past Gooseberry Cove, up Ganney Cove Arm to the Rattle, portage across at Little Heart's Ease Neck to Squidholes and the waters of Southwest Arm...this is for the experienced!
Lots to do picking berries, whale watching, icebergs in season can often be seen. You can fish off the wharves and cook-up on Back Beach.
In nearby Gooseberry Cove, Trina's One Stop Shop has very good selection of basic groceries, including beer. Bring specialty items with you or travel 40 minutes to Clarenville for supermarket shopping.
Southport is centrally located for day trips to the Burin and Bonavista Peninsulas which provide world class hiking trails, museums, restaurants as well as ferries to remote communities.

Great memories!
This was a dream come true for my husband - staying in a small fishing village and chumming with the locals. Going over the weekend was great as we could check out the Friday night party at the shed and also go fishing for cod. Hubby found a friend to take us out fishing and for a boat ride. He and our son then learned to clean their fish for our own fish fry. My daughter was in her glory having access to Peggy’s craft supplies. A glue gun, sparkles, and paint - what else could a ten year old ever want! Any sparkles you may find in the house - courtesy of her crafting. My daughter and I also spent happy times searching for beach glass at the rocky beach in the village. There is lots of beach glass to be found! Peggy provided dinner for us our first night. We had enough left overs to accompany our fish dinner the next night. Drinking water is provided (water cooler). Don’t drink the tap water - hubby made me tea from the tap water and I felt it! Southport was the perfect break for some downtime on a busy trip across Newfoundland. Great memories!

This place is magic
This was my second time staying here and I adore it. Peggy is so wonderful. The house is comfortable and beautiful and the village is picturesque. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the utensils, etc. that you’ll need. The locals are very friendly. I plan to return every summer.
