Welcome to Peacock! A lovely guest cottage in a bucolic setting with tennis court and swimming pool. The location is conveniently located near Delta attractions. We are 20 minutes from Cleveland, MS 30 minutes from Greenville,MS 40minutes from Greenwood and 15 minutes from Indianola. We are one hour south of Clarksdale. The location is private, secure and unlike any other place in the Mississippi Delta. The cottage has a screened back porch and an open front porch which overlooks a lovely pasture. The tennis court and swimming pool are conveniently located next to the cottage. The bedroom has two double beds. A small refrigerator is provided in the cottage.
The Delta offers a unique cultural experience- the place where the Blues were born and cultural attractions like the BB King Museum are in close proximity.
We loved everything about the house and the surrounding area of the property. Excellent service and property had a security gated entrance. Just a great experience all the way around:)
The Peacock Cottage was a beautiful, secluded nugget of paradise in the heart of the Delta. The caretaker is a precious lady who was so very accommodating and kind. The pool was a delicious reprieve at the end of the day from the pounding Mississippi heat. It is a quiet, private, and inviting space to enjoy reading, conversation, or friends with some porch sitting. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and promise to return.
We loved our one night stay in the middle of the Delta.
The cabin is beautifully decorated. Not one detail has been overlooked, it has everything you might need to make your stay comfortable.
We'd would love to return for a few days on-end and enjoy the sunrises on the back porch and the sunsets on the screened-in front porch.
We picked up a delicious coffee cake at Connie's Bakery in Leland the day before so that we could have a leisurely morning on the porch. Vince's and Lillo's are two great places to eat supper in Leland. It is a bad drive back to the cottage from Leland, Indianola, or Cleveland but just make sure to watch your mileage tracker at the intersection as the driveway is well hidden at night.
Extremely comfortable, with a great view from the back porch. We over packed utensils and simple meals, but there is a small kitchen that has everything you will need to cook breakfast etc. if you bring the ingredients.
I am certain we will visit again,
Our family loved this cottage. The furnishings, MS delta artwork, and overall feel of the inside was just wonderful. Everything we needed was there, 2 beds, a little kitchen and bathroom. Outside, it was peaceful and the tennis court and pool were wonderful to use with our children. The owners are interesting and caring people who make the experience even better. A short distance away, we visited the amazing BB King museum in Indianola. We would definitely stay here again, it was such a pleasant experience.
While the cottage more than met expectations as a comfortable place to stay for a visit to the Mississippi Delta, it was a surprisingly personal statement in its design, furnishings and especially its decor. The very successful result can compare to good accommodations anywhere. One note: though the photos don't show it, the cottage does have a more or less complete small kitchen, which is important as an option because of its rural location.
This was the best ..A peace of heaven on earth. My granddaughter did not want to go home she loved everyday there...Lars thank you for allowing us to share this beautiful place with you. And yes my husband and I will return alone.. Again thank you.
We immensely enjoyed our time at your cabin! Home away from home!
Lars is great. The cottage is cozy and inviting. We felt very secure in the private setting. Thanks so much for sharing your property with us! We stayed during the DYWS in Cleveland and our Tennessee team from Summertown won the championship. Great times in MS!
The place was fantastic. My wife and I enjoyed the peacefulness and tranquillity of the property. Very private. Super romantic and ideally located for exploring the delta. Truly perfect.
We chose this cabin instead of a motel room and could not be happier. It’s very nicely decorated, it’s clean, and it’s cozy. I stayed there with my three sons, and there was plenty of room for a short, weekend stay. There is a tiny kitchen with sink, cooktop, and fridge, and there’s a coffee pot and coffee. The porch is really nice to sit out on, and the deck on the other side is as well. There is a tennis court and swimming pool right beside the cabin. My boys enjoyed walking through some of the fields and woods on the property. Just beautiful. Mr. Ely was so nice and accommodating. We look forward to staying again!
We stumbled across this little cottage when our plans for Yazoo City fell through due to flooding. We were so glad we found The Peacock House on VRBO! Lars welcomed us to his farm and we fell instantly in love with its charm and peacefulness. The cottage is pleasantly decorated and so comfortable! The beds, sheets, blankets and towels were cozy and soft. Lars is easy going, responsive and all around nice person. The shower was strong and hot and the tiny working kitchen had everything we needed. So much natural lighting and beauty. My kids explored the grounds, played tennis and hunkered down during the rainstorm (great spot to enjoy a thunderstorm!). We spent the day in Cleveland exploring the Grammy Museum and even checked out the birthplace of Kermit the Frog in Leland. I loved this place! Thanks Lars...a perfect way to end our trip to the Delta.
Super peaceful charming little cottage in the middle of nowhere where you can get away from the stresses of everyday work and life. The pool was wonderful and we enjoyed cooking out on the BBQ grill on the 4th of July. Very cozy and comfy!
If you need an escape, then this is the place for you. You will be surrounded by nature, but you'll have all the necessities you would ever need (pool, direct tv, wifi). Lars even gave us a tour of his farm! If you saw the previous review, we had no problem with the a/c! Would recommend to anyone!
