Maluhia Hanalei is a beautiful Hawaiian-style home just one block from the magnificent two-mile crescent beach at world-renowned Hanalei Bay.
The furnishings, amenities, and setting make it a wonderful vacation home from which to enjoy the wonders of Kauai's North Shore.
A two-minute walk from the house is magnificent Hanalei Bay and its famous, white-sand beach. A short stroll will bring you to quaint, historic, downtown Hanalei, with its wonderful array of restaurants, shops, and galleries. Within a ten-minute drive you will find numerous beautiful beaches and a huge variety of activities to keep you busy.
The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, set back off the road, and down a long driveway on a wonderfully-landscaped quarter acre adjacent to a conservation area. The setting is lush, green, private, quiet, very secluded, and yet only a block to the beach and a five-minute walk into town. An ideal location.
Maluhia Hanalei is a single-family home which will accommodate up to 10 guests. Groups of up to 6 can rent the spacious three- bedroom, two bath upstairs main part of the house separately. See the notes below the chart on the rates page for rates. There is also a lovely garden level apartment with two more bedrooms, living room, full kitchen, and full bath for up to an additional 4 guests. This can be rented separately or with the rest of the house. See VRBO 507143 for the separate apartment listing.
The house is beautifully decorated and fully equipped. Larger groups will find that the whole house combines to make an ideal vacation home for up to 10. The individual suites give the smaller groups within the large one their own separate spaces and the upstairs has a very open, spacious floor plan with plenty of room for everyone to gather for meals and visiting.
Guests will enjoy the wonderful outdoor shower, the myriad birds in the trees, the wonderful sunrises and sunsets, the lush foliage and flowers everywhere, and the lovely tropical views from the extensive lanais and patios.

Perfect family vacation home
We stayed in this perfect family vacation home 4 years ago, and returned this year by unanimous decision. There were 14 of us ranging in age from 7 months to 71 years and it was, once again, perfect for our family. One block from beautiful Hanalei Bay, we walked to the beach for sunrises, sunsets, and everything in between. All beach things you might want are at the house including boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, etc. We had a wonderful 9 days in a beautiful, fully- equipped home and gorgeous location. We hope to return soon!!

Amazing lush and private property
We had an absolutely fabulous time here. So incredibly close to everything, yet so very lush and private in an amazingly beautiful setting. We enjoyed walking to the beach and downtown to shop or eat at the local restaurants. The property was very comfortable, well maintained and tastefully decorated, yet very family friendly- Everything you might need was provided, down to carts to carry all your "stuff" down to the beach! Marney and her staff were very friendly and responsive to our needs. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone- a couple looking for a private getaway, or a family. We will definitely be returning!

A Magical and Welcoming Aloha Spirit Filled Home
I have had the distinct pleasure of staying here twice and will continue to rent from Marney for years to come. The location is as ideal as it gets. Walking distance to the beach AND to town. The house is clean, classy, warm, and welcoming. Marney is delightful, professional, and goes above and beyond to make sure we all feel so taken care of and looked after. The neighborhood is quiet and sweet, even with the proximity to downtown Hanalei. The beautiful backyard is mesmerizing and an ideal place to read, relax, and sunbathe. The kitchen is wide open and makes it fun to cook! There is a magic to the space that I feel deeply and also the sense of so many amazing family memories being made in this space. The home opens my heart and helps me feel grounded and grateful every time I stay here. One of my favorite memories from the house, is sitting out on the long and wide deck, learning how to make leis. There is so much Aloha spirit permeating this place. It is also an awesome house for a retreat situation as well. Divine!

Amazing Vacation
my daughter from Idaho booked your home (upstairs 3 bedrooms and 1 bedroom studio downstairs) in Hanalei Bay for our family (8 adults and 1 child) from December 2nd through the 12th. We had an amazing time and the weather was great! Most of the family had been to Kauai before but, for my husband and I it was our first time to this island. Your home was wonderful and we had everything and more that we needed. We were all able to sit together at the dining table for some of our meals and able to play games at night. The home was very clean and had all the kitchen appliances and cooking essentials especially for a large family. The kitchen/living room and dining room area is spacious and open. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and having a highchair, washer and dryer were great especially with a one year old! There was even a portacrib crib available even though we ended up not needing it. The beach supplies, beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, tubes, beach towels and snorkeling gear along with wagons were great to have and we're very enjoyable. The home is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac and when I (grandma) carried my one year old grandson with my beverage from your Hanalei home to the beach it only took me 3 minutes and we walked into town several times for lunch, dinner and shopping and it was a very enjoyable walk. I just want to thank you again for being so kind and accommodating to make our family trip one that we will never forget. We hope to be able to stay at your relaxing beautiful home again!

Clean, beautiful home in an incredible setting
The upstairs Hibiscus was the ideal place for our family for two weeks—three adult couples and a five year old child. There was plenty of space for everyone to hang out. There were books, toys, games and puzzles for our granddaughter. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we could possibly need, from condiments and staples to a blender and a lime squeezer! We used the supplied fold up wagon to haul the chairs, towels and umbrellas (and sometimes our granddaughter) for the short walk to the beautiful beach. The setting is absolutely perfect in this quiet neighborhood and lush setting. We had planned this trip for a long time and were not disappointed with this wonderful house. Marney was extremely helpful with answering all our questions. She even arranged for Beaux to bring a crockpot when we inquired about one. We will be back!

Fabulous family vacation
This was our big family trip we have been talking about & saving for the last couple of years. We spent 7 nights on Kauai. We were a group of 13 (10 adults ages 21 to 50 & 3 grands ages 4 months, 2 & 3-1/2) & we wanted a house close to the beach & big enough for sleeping arrangements & spending quality time together. This house was perfect for that. It truly is a 3 minute walk to the beach - a beautiful, sandy beach that was fun for all ages - & a 5 minute walk to the town of Hanalei. We rented the 3 bedroom main part of the house, “Hibiscus” (2nd floor) & the 2 bedroom apartment on the main level, “Plumeria”. The house & apartment were as described, clean, & well stocked with everything you could need. When at the house we spent most of our time in Hibiscus. There was plenty of room for us all in the open floor plan of the living/kitchen/dining area of the house. The wrap around deck gave us even more space. There were toys & books for the kids as well as books, games, & movies for everyone else. There were plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, some beach toys, & beach umbrellas as well as 2 wagons to get everything to & from the beach, with a little space for a kid or 2. The house is surrounded by tropical plants & sounds, with a small yard in the back. The driveway had plenty of room for the 3 cars we rented. When at the house it does not feel like you are in a neighborhood cul-d-sac, but in the tropics. The setting around the house reminded me of when we visited Costa Rica. The master bedroom did seem to stay a little cooler than the rest of the house, which my husband & I appreciated. The deck off the master was wonderful to sit on as well. I do recommend good earplugs for sleeping as there are chickens & roosters in the area, well actually all over the island. With windows open they can wake you up earlier than you may want to be. Marney was very helpful & great with communication. We had a red eye flight home & she allowed us to us Plumeria for that day. It was so appreciated! Beaux was very helpful as well. Would definitely rent this house again for a group & highly recommend it.

Perfect quiet neighborhood home
This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for tranquility and homey-ness from your vacation. The beds are comfortable and soft, the bathrooms immaculately clean, and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and cookware for any meal. We especially appreciated the view from the wrap-around deck on the second floor, which overlooks the small stream running behind the house. Be aware that the house has no air conditioning, but our family found the temperature & humidity very pleasant. The owner's advice for local restaurants, markets and activities made our stay very enjoyable. We can highly recommend staying here!

Well stocked and comfy beds
We rented the upper and lower units for a family vacation with kids and grandparents. Grandparents took lower unit and we took the upper unit with our 4 kids. The house was perfect in the location, comfort and had everything we needed like pack n play and high chair and all the beach supplies. It's a short walk to the beach. The wrap around porch was lovely.
