Description
High Point Villa is located at the top of a short, private gated road--700 feet up and overlooking the Sir Francis Drake Channel, St. John, and at least a dozen (literally!) other islands!
There are 2 large bedroom suites located at opposite ends of the home, each connected to the main living area by short breezeways. Each bedroom suite has its own full bath along with private outdoor showers so you can enjoy the amazing views while soaping-up! Both bedroom suites have vaulted ceilings and multiple large, screened sliding glass doors that let the ocean breezes flow through, as well as four-post king size beds complete with goose-down mattress covers for unrivaled comfort. Ceiling fans above each bed.
The well appointed kitchen has lots of counter space and is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. (We're serious--the kitchen has EVERYTHING you would expect to find in a regular family kitchen--other than a dishwasher, sorry.) Those gourmet meals can be enjoyed at either the indoor or outdoor dining tables--both have amazing views. Your designated chef need not despair of cooking duty--he or she can enjoy the company of companions AND views to the south of sailboats in the Channel and St. John because the kitchen is open to and overlooks the main living and dining area.
The main living and dining area is beautifully vaulted and open on three sides: To the east side is the pool, hot tub, large sunny pool deck, and views to Peter, Cooper, and Norman islands; to the south is the large deck with multiple sitting and dining areas and views of the Channel and St. John; to the west is the outdoor bar, a covered sitting area, and views of the West End of Tortola, Soper's Hole Harbor, Jost Van Dyke (home of the Soggy Dollar beach bar) and St. Thomas. The views from 'inside' are so big and so spectacular, and the 'inside' living spaces are so airy, breezy, and open to the outside living spaces that common notions of 'indoor' and 'outdoor' blend together in perfect harmony.
The pool is always refreshing! From in the pool or on the spacious pool deck your foreground view is of beautiful island landscaping flowing seamlessly into huge views of the British and US Virgin islands--spanning from east to west. The pool deck has both sunny and shaded sitting/relaxing areas. The heated hot tub has a stone waterfall that flows into the pool for subtle and soothing sounds while you soak.
Other amenities include: a Bose iPod docking station so you can dance to your favorite tunes; hilltop stone gazebo complete with hammock--yes, you will feel like the king of this island paradise as you swing in the hammock while sipping an icy beverage!; complete linens, beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, etc... (the house is amazing but you really should visit the many beautiful beaches on Tortola); seamless solar power and solar hot water--we are eco-minded; parking area for cars immediately adjacent to front entrance; library of books-many tastes;
You will need to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle. If you use Jerry's Car rental. Jerry will pick you up and drop you off at the West End ferry or airport.

Stunning views, beautiful well-appointed home, very helpful owner, and greeter, too.
You definitely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle for getting to and from the villa. Once there, you will feel like you’re on top of the world! The view from the expansive deck is breathtaking. It’s quiet and peaceful and you have complete privacy. Furnishings are beautiful and the beds very comfortable. The pool is fantastic, especially star-gazing from it at night. You will love this place!!
Still Superb...
Trying to disprove that “a vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in,” our fourth(!) stay at High Point convinced us (again) this is the perfect place to test this hypothesis (and yes, we’ll be back to make sure…). Situated atop a hill with sweeping views of the Francis Drake channel and surrounding islands, High Point is majestic without being ostentatious, inviting but not pretentious, and tasteful instead of tacky. High Point welcomes you from the minute you arrive, as you move through an open living concept or lounge on spacious decking surrounded by a lavish Caribbean landscape…with views everywhere! High Point boasts too many amenities to list, but floating in the pool and watching spectacular sunsets, gazing at a starry night sky from the hot tub, enjoying warm trade winds swinging in the hammock, sharing a drink at the outdoor bar staring down geckos, grilling fresh fish on either gas or charcoal grill, cleaning up in outdoor showers, and drifting off to sleep in a king-size bed listening to island sounds certainly makes for comfortable, carefree living. Who needs WiFi, TV, and VCR (all of which, of course, High Point has, including an expansive collection of movies for those who prefer a more “virtual” island life). For a more active lifestyle, High Point is perfectly located to explore nearby Smuggler’s Cove (find the off-roads around West End’s back side), take a day trip by ferry to nearby Virgin Gorda (The Baths) or sail to neighboring Jost van Dye (Soggy Dollar on White Bay Beach), SCUBA dive the HMS Rhone, or discover fantastic restaurants (try Sugar Mill and Brandywine), or…. Look: Just go!! The owners, Doug and Linda, are extremely responsive and helpful, always available, and they check in with guests to ensure all is well. High Point truly earns its name.

Lovely home with amazing views
This was our second visit to High Point and we still cannot get enough of it. The home is quite inviting and lovely so you feel welcome and comfortable the minute you walk in. High Point has exquisite views from everywhere yet is completely private. You’ll find lovely and very comfortable surroundings overlooking Sir Francis Drake Channel which afford views of both the US and British Virgin Islands. The pool is always refreshing and a pleasure to cool off in. Relaxing on the deck and reading a book is a great way to spend some time when not exploring the island. The kitchen is well appointed with all we needed to cook at home and there is a great grill too. We spent Happy Hour everyday up on the peak of the hill in the gazebo enjoying the views and nice breeze while the sun set. We will definitely be back! Thanks Doug and Linda!

Lives Up To Expectations! Incredible views!
Lovely home with beautiful views! Perfect for one couple or several. Tons of privacy, well appointed. We have stayed at some lovely homes on Tortola but this by far was our favorite. We will rent again!!!

What a Fantastic View!
My wife, sister and I enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was perfect. Just loved the views. With morning coffee, mid-day or evening relaxation the views were always there. The British Virgin Islands have a lot of helpful and friendly people that are fun to be around. I can tell you many Caribbean islands where they are not. This property is conveniently located on the West End where a lot of local restaurants and stores are present. You need a 4-wheeled vehicle to reach this property and Jerry at Jerry's Car Rentals is the best. Picked us up at the airport guided us through town and had a lot of good jokes.

Top of the World
We have been coming to Tortola for 22 years and this is the nicest place we have stayed. Magnificent views, spacious and comfortable this villa is a can't miss stay. The property manager Doug was nice and helped out during our stay and the owner checked with us before and during our stay to ensure that everything was good. Nothing negative to say about this home. Welcome to the Top of the World.

Best View on Tortola!
If you are looking for an awe inspiring view in supreme comfort and privacy, this is your spot. We loved returning from a day at the beach or exploring other islands to this perfect retreat and spectacular sunsets. The weather was perfect with breezes most of the time we were there. It’s easy to catch New Horizons Ferry from West End to Jost Van Dyke for a day at White Beach. Lobster rolls at Soggy Dollar were the best we’ve had and a visit to Foxy’s never disappoints. Aristocat day sails leaves from Nanny Cay and captains and crews are great at finding perfect snorkeling and turtle watching. We had great lunches at Sebastian’s and Island Fusion. Smugglers Cove is a short drive and Nigel’s Beach Bar is always fun (try the hot dogs - they are a special treat). Make sure you are comfortable with a steep drive (4 wheel drive is a must), but so worth it! We hope to be back next year.

Our favorite vacation spot!
This is the second time we have stayed at High Point Villa and it is truly exceptional! You are really on top of the world looking out over the Sir Francis Drake channel. The owners and the property managers make sure every detail is taken care of and they make you feel so welcome. We recommend this property without hesitation! And we can’t wait to return.

High Point heaven
This was our 3rd visit to this lovely home. Same gorgeous views of the channel and numerous islands from Jost Van Dyke all the way around to Norman and Peter. Our favorite pastime is relaxing by the pool or just sitting on the deck watching the boats go by. High Point is so lovely we didn't want to leave. The house is meticulously clean and well maintained. The owners and property managers are easy to work with. Everything you need is right here. Highly recommend this place. Looking forward to our next visit.
