Casa Flamboyan, a spectacular, colorful, oceanfront home, takes complete advantage of its perfect location—from every vantage point in each suite you can see the Bay of Mujeres—with sailboats anchored and Cancun in the distance—and the Caribbean Ocean—with its incredible shades of turquoise, green, and blue. You can see sunrises and sunsets from inside and from beautiful decks on both sides of the house. A two-story, two-suite, stunning, contemporary Mexican retreat, Casa Flamboyan was designed by renowned Mexican artist and architect Jorge Carlos Martell Correa.
Guests will appreciate the contemporary Mexican motif, the beautiful custom wood furnishings, original art, and the attention to detail. The owners provide all the perfect amenities necessary for an island vacation along with tropical breezes and warm hospitality.
Isla Mujeres is located east of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico approximately eight miles across the Bay of Mujeres (Bay of Women)—a 20-minute ferry ride from Cancun.
Casa Flamboyan offers two private rental suites. The suites—Real and Azul—are bright, airy, and beautifully decorated with original art and handmade furniture crafted at a sustainable forest project south of Tulum on the way to Chetumal. All the suites enjoy spectacular views and breezes from every room.
Guests in each suite enjoy complete privacy. Public gathering areas of the house include the full bayside palapa porch for enjoying the sunset with cocktails or for sharing lunch while watching the sailboats in the bay; the freshwater infinity pool with an expansive deck overlooking the Caribbean; and the rooftop with its beautiful 360º view—a lovely spot to rest in the hammocks or sunbath in privacy and experience the relaxing life of Isla Mujeres.
On the Caribbean side of the house, there are stairs that lead to the coral beach—here you can comb the beach for shells and sea glass or search the tide pools for marine life. At night, you will want to sit on your private decks or the stunning roof top and watch the stars in the sky—stars that seem so close you can touch them. In the morning, while you sip your coffee, each sunrise is more gorgeous than the morning before. Experience the delight of getting up early to see the first light of day.
On the bayside, the unusual palapa roofed stair tower takes you to the second floor (Real and Azul) and then on to the roof top. The gourd light carved with flamboyan flowers was created for the house by an artisan in Puerto Morelos.
In each suite you will find a notebook that shares all the information you may need about the island—activities, helpful information, etc.—as well as personal recommendations for restaurants. Casa Flamboyan is easy walking distance—or just a short and inexpensive taxi ride—from downtown shops and restaurants, the ferry pier, and North Beach.
The suites at Casa Flamboyan are on the upper floor and, because of their design, are not suitable for young children or anyone with disabilities. Older children must be accompanied by an adult in the same unit.
Casa Flamboyan consists of two one-bedroom suites or apartments on upper level. Not three bedrooms and it is not a whole house. Each suite—Real and Azul--Sleeps two comfortably in each suite but can accommodate one extra (at charge of $50 per night) on inflatable bed.
