You couldn't ask for a better location - two tiered deck on the beach, 1/2 block to Kid's Corner, a quick bike ride or comfortable walk to town. The views from the deck and the cottage are amazing. It was wonderful to be able to grill on the deck and watch the kids on the beach. We enjoyed a breath-taking sunset every night. My husband was thrilled with the natural gas grill (now he wants one). The details were really special - like nice towels and bedding and two tvs (which is nice when kids aren't compromising). The walk way to the beach was not a steep staircase like you might expect but a gentle slope with rock stairs - a nice surprise. If it meets your specs, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Beach House in South Haven

We had a wonderful stay at this beach front home in South Haven. The house was very clean, updated and had very nice furnishings. The deck was fabulous with beautiful sunsets every night. We stopped going out to dinner because eating dinner on the deck was the best experience in South Haven. Our family loved blueberry picking which was only a few miles away. A walk to get ice cream at the South Bend Chocolate factory was also a must after sunset. Our only surprise was how close the house was to the street. It was not a problem but something to be noted. Thank you for a great stay, we hope to be back!

Family Fun

Our family had a wonderful relaxing week in South Haven! The location is perfect - just walk down the stone stairs and you are at the beach! We watched the beautiful sunsets every night while eating dinner on the deck. The house was decorated so cute, very clean and had everything we needed for the week. Kids Korner is less than a 1/2 block away and downtown is within a 10 minute walk. We enjoyed the Blueberry Festival's art show & entertainment and the 5K run participants ran right outside our front door. The owner was great to work with and always responded to e-mails/phonecalls. We were sorry to see our week come to an end and hope to return next year!

Unbeatable location and outdoor area. Good house

The views from the family room and decks were perfect and really enjoyed watching the sunsets every night. The house is on the small side but the entire deck area is what makes the house so great to stay at. Loved being able to walk to our "private" beach straight from the house. Kid's Corner is right down the block and was very nice for our son to play at. Going to town is a short drive or a longer walk but very doable. Would love to spend another week here sometime soon. So relaxing.

Summer Vacation of a Lifetime!!!

I spent a week with my wife, three young kids and my mother in law at this property. The beachfront location is priceless. The kids were able to run to and from the beach at their leisure. Dinner on the back porch overlooking the beach and light house will be burned into my memory forever. We were close enough to downtown to be able to walk to downtown for food and shopping. The only downside was that the place was relatively small for the price but you are actually on the beach and we didn't spend anytime inside anyway. If size doesn't matter, I'd recommend this property without reservation.

Something for everyone

Had a great August week with excellent weather and warm water where the kids spent hours. Loved how the house was done, the easy access to the beach, walking to town for ice cream, candy, and a good dinner at Tello's. Great decks for dining, watching boats coming and going, and enjoying the sunsets. Even met some nice neighbors. This South Haven area is lovely with well cared for homes we enjoyed seeing. Owner/manager very responsive.

A priceless view!

We stayed here at the end of August 2011 and had a fantastic time. We wished we stayed longer. The views from the deck were breathtaking and we ate all meals outside at the large covered dining table. The location was perfect for everything we needed--we could easily walk into town, the Kids Corner playground was literally around the corner and our kids loved it. The beach was right below the house and we could easily go back and forth from the house to the beach where the kids spent the day. The house has been recently renovated, and the accommodations were excellent. The large TVs and DVD player were great for evenings and we appreciated having a room one floor below that was quiet enough for us to watch TV while the kids slept upstairs. We'd definitely like to return someday.

Incredible location and views; very nice, clean cottage! Can't wait to stay again!

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful cottage this past summer. We stayed with our daughter, her husband and their three grandsons. The cottage and large decks provided plenty of space for our entire family. The beach is only steps away from the back deck and a wonderful park is located immediately across the street. The town of South Haven is a very short walk away. We had a week filled with lots of beach fun, tanning, shopping, berry picking, and site seeing! We also ate at many of the nice restaurants in South Haven. There are several restaurants that have become our favorites - Clementines, Maria's, Phoenix Street Cafe, and Su Casa Mexican Restaurant, just to name a few. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone interested in visiting a the best (in our opinion!) beach town on Lake Michigan. You will absolutely love the cottage and the town of South Haven!

Excellent location, views and time with Family & Friends!

This house fit 4 adults and 4 kids comfortably. The location (on the beach), walk to town, 1 block from Kid's Corner was perfect. The beach is the best! The house had all the amenities we needed, nicely equipped kitchen, bed/bath linens. Beach adirondack chairs to use. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable

We rented the home for a family get-together. All ages enjoyed the comfortable, clean accommodations. Access to beach and views from decks were highlights. Modern kitchen with great equipment allowed us to prepare our own meals with ease. Will return!

Awesome location. Killer view. Beach as good as Grand Haven. Only complaint is that the beds should be more comfortable for the price. My wife slept on the floor because it was more comfortable:(

family vacation

We were so impressed with this wonderful cottage. The proximity to the beach from the cottage was probably the best in town. The beach was beautiful and we absolutely loved the view from the decks of the cottage. The cottage itself was very tastefully decorated and furnished with everything that we needed. We had 6 adults and 2 children and were very comfortable with our accommodations. Our grandchildren loved the playground just a block away and it was a wonderful place to have a family vacation!

Awesome vacation spot!

We had an awesome vacation. This was our first family vacation with our sons, daughter-in-laws and grand-kids. We all had the best time ever. The house is in a beautiful location. The kids loved the private beach and the kids corner only a block away. The lower level pull out sofa was a little uncomfortable but all in all we had a great time. Definitely want to return next year!

Incredible Beach House!

From our initial discussions all the way through our final day, Chad and his family did everything in their power to make our stay enjoyable. They accommodated our request for a 4wk stay, they were quick to respond to my demanding requests about what specific items the house contained (I love to cook and the thought of 4wks away from my kitchen and my gadgets made me a little bonkers!) , they opened the entire house to us (no large "owner only" rooms), and they had the house fully-equipped with paper supplies (tp/paper towels/laundry/dish soap, etc.). The house was pristine and very comfortable for our family of 4 (4y and 9m boys). We spent many nights roasting marshmallows lakeside in the sand, memories we will surely never forget. To top it all of, Chad arranged for a courtesy mid-stay thorough cleaning! We received top-notch treatment in a top-notch beach house and town.....thanks for the fantastic hospitality!

This beach house surpassed our expectations not only was it clean and organized, it had its own private beach that was easy to get to - the sunsets over the lake were amazing to watch and the view from the house or beach were spectacular.

LOVED IT!!

I can't say enough great things about this place!! My family, of my husband, 3 teenage daughters, and I, had a FANTASTIC time in this home and this town this summer!! My expectations were high, because I was SO anxious for a lake/beach vacation with my family. My expectations were met and exceeded! The town was so "quaint", pleasant, friendly, and full of things to do. We surf boarded, biked, walked, shopped, ate, went to a movie, sat at the beach, and even watched a major rain storm roll across the lake (kind of scary….but very cool). The weather could have been warmer, but we were there pretty early in the season. I would highly recommend this home and this vacation!! THANKS TO CHAD AND HIS FAMILY for letting us stay and all his travel tips!!

Great vacation house in South Haven

We brought the family of 10 (7 adults and 3 children) to South Haven and chose this rental because of its location on the beach and nearness to downtown. We were not disappointed. Everything was clean and in working order. We used both the air conditioning on some days and opened the windows on others to enjoy the breeze. The house has two great deck levels, a large covered outdoor table for meals and views of the lake were tremendous. The kids and several adults spent most of their time swimming and the walk to the beach is short and easy. A walk to the pier was also a daily activity with much to do in that area. The gas grill provided was clean, ready to use and made some great meals. The kitchen and upstairs bedrooms were rather small and there was little indoor eating space which was a problem when the weather was poor as the rain did get under the awning. The views from the living room and downstairs bedroom were great. The other rooms had no view. One should note that while the actual beach area was small while we were there due to high water levels, there were much larger areas to set up just a few lots down from the home so everyone had space. The home is best suited for smaller families or groups. Parking was very adequate.

Superb location

We had an amazing family vacation here. We had three adults and three kids, and were quite comfortable. We have relatives in the area, so at dinner time we had many more people and there was plenty of room for everyone to eat and have a good time. We used the gas grill every night. The kitchen was well equipped with plates, cups, cooking utensils, paper towel, etc. The best feature of this property is truly the location. You are steps from the beach. The adults can enjoy cocktails on the covered veranda while the kids play in the beach. The kids were also a 5 minute bike ride to the down town area where they could get ice cream or see a movie (our kids' ages ranged from 11-15, and we felt perfectly comfortable letting them roam the area). There is also a park for younger kids just kitty corner to the property. There is a large television and DVD player (though we never turned it on!) The Wifi worked great. The appliances were clean, new, and in excellent working order. The house was well stocked with clean linens and bath towels. I only have two suggestions for improvements - (1) a vacuum cleaner would have been handy and (2) the screen sliding door was in disrepair and fell off nearly every time it was opened and definitely needs to be replaced. We are already planning our trip next year and cannot wait to stay again at this lovely and well-maintained property.
